Clutch lifter rod (added pics)
« on: November 04, 2010, 06:07:26 PM »
I've found that my clutch lifter rod is in 2 pieces. The fiche shows one piece. After checking around I found this thread http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=14273.25
It turns out they are supposed to be one piece. I've fitted a ball bearing between the 2 pieces and can shift now.
Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the lifter rod? I've got a friend with a lathe and a CNC machine that might be willing to make one for me.

OK I got photoshop installed so I can finally edit those huge pics down to something reasonable. I'm also adding my understead electronics setup that I inherited. Nothing to do with this post but everybody loves pics

Thanks for the reply Dave
I'm not sure if he can do the rod out of aluminum and make the steel end caps. I'll check with him this weekend. I'll still need to know the correct lenth though.
From what I've read in the other thread is these can get compressd, so I don't trust my broken rod as a reference.

i wouldnt say they get compressed as such but if they get bent or the wear surfaces wear, theyll get shorter,a little, ill dig one out and measure it for you,the end in the basket is convex, the actuating end is concave for the ball,id try and find a used one.

Something is going around...mine broke today...

I just bought one for $31 (shipped) at http://www.servicehonda.com

Part #: 22850-323-000  - this is what all the related threads are saying the part # is.  and that's the one I bought.
