I will let you know when the size it right. Maybe even make a movie of my sketchy old machine. It is like magic. If it makes me some money...that is just great. The price will be right though.

OK so what can you guys tell me about my VIN# S90565655? Bill of sale when I bought the bike said "1969 S90" but when I took the wiring harness out it had "1965" then the part #. So....what year IS my bike? :-[

there were no OHC singles till 1967, so it's definitely not a 65

From what I've gathered on the old Hondas (learning from my CA95 experience) your vin means the bike was made in the fifth year of S90 production.  The year on the title most likely refers to the year the bike was sold/titled from the dealer.  When was the first year of S90 production?

Well as far as I am concerned Apex Cycle out in WA can go suck it. I bought an airfilter from them on the 21st and ......nothing..... no email, no package in the mail. I have no sympathy for error when it comes to my money. I had bought an airfilter tube that same day from Vietnam and it showed up today.

I just send Tom at Apex a strongly worded letter of annoyance and frustration. Frigging guy prob buys from asia when someone puts an order it. Drop ship to my house. FFFFFUUUUGGGGGG YOU APEX CYCLE!!! >:(

I just sent another strongly worded email to www.apexcycle.com Still no responce.
Makes me want to unleash the fury of the SOHC.net dogs. Have you ever seen the "Brimmer" thread?

I just want my frigging airfilter or some sort of responce from the guy.

maybe it's one of those things where it's a part time business for the guy, and he doesn't tend to it as he should?

Apex if I gather correct is a one man business, so something legitimate might have happened and he is sick or is caring for a sick parent or on travel, etc.
Hopefully, you won't have to unleash the dogs of the SOHC4 forum on him...

The tag on the harness is generally considered a good indication of the build year of the bike. The Serial #/VIN seems a little high though...
The harnesses can be replaced but generally aren't until they are much older.
You bike is a early bike as it has the offset carb, right? It has the 45 degree header pipe instead of the 90 degree pipe on the one piece exhausts.  Sounds like your bill of sale seller didn't know what he had.

I dont have the offset carb. When I got the bike there was no front fender (chrome or painted silver) or airbox, both would have been good in helping me figure it out. Either way I have it titled as a 1969..correct or not. Just really wish I knew 100%. I have been told that because there were so many made, with such slight variations that most experts cant agree on the year of a bike.

If you don't have the offset carb then how do you end up with the 45 degree rather than the 90 degree exhaust pipe?  You have chrome fenders right, so that is a late model...last two to 3 years of production. The chromed fender, on the rear, had two posts that slide into rubber grommets that go into the rear of the frame at the front lower mount on the fender.
If you have the style that bolts on at the lower front attachment, then it is an earlier model frame=painted fenders.

'69 definitely had chromed fenders

Another week and nothing from Apex. I am getting back to badmouthing them. He can suck it. If nothing by the end of this week I will start a Trashing page for him. Abuse away....just so annoyed.
This one thing has thrown off my whole assembly. The bike is now off the table and on the side waiting, for almost a month now.

I just read a bunch of crummy reviews over at the Honda 305 forum. Same complaint as mine. Weeks and weeks of nothing. He is just a middle man operation. I would have saved time and money by buying directly from asia.

Not yet. I am just whining. I just want others to be aware of how hard apex cycles service sucks. It would have been cheaper and faster if I just bought what I needed from asia on ebay rather than a middle man in WA.
