Don't know if this is close to you, but this guy Ron Scrimsa did the head, porting, 5 angle valve job, guides and cylinder work, resleeved and bored, on Phaedrus II.

that's about 40 miles away, so only a 45 minute drive.  if he could do the work while i waited, i think it would be worth it.  it would be cheaper than mailing anything!  Thanks Ron, i'll give him a shout!!

I recommend this guy.  I sent him my 400f cylinders for a 466 bore and it only cost 180 shipped back to me.  He upped the price a little since then, but it is still a good deal... and he is definitely qualified.  $45/hole up to second over and $65/hole for big bores.  A big bore would be more like a mm off.

Try Ferry's in Seagoville.  His card advertises aluminum cylinder head and block repair, so I don't think they do bores.  I didn't see any boring machines when I took my head there.  I'm sure he knows who would though.

This old guy knows his stuff for sure.   When I dropped off my head he'd just finished working on a $30k Top Fuel head.

Automotive Machine and Supply.  In Ft Worth, just north west of downtown.  I think they are at White Settlement and Carroll st.  They have done machine work on my VWs and they do a lot of import stuff and bike stuff as well.

i already took it to The Motorcycle Shop in Hurst.  a lot of places around here use this one guy who doesn't have his own business since he does his work at home in his shop.  i talked to a lot of other reputable shops, and this guy seems legit.

i'm hoping everything goes just fine, i don't see why not...  i did find a small crack on one of the fins, came out after the cleaning, so i'm a little pissed about that!

i'll post about their quality when i receive the parts.  thanks for the info guys!

This info is kewl.  We don't seem to have enough info on what we have available to us in DFW like I would of expected there to be.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

eyah be sure to let us know how it goes, my granddads friend does some motorcycle repair out of his garage for cheap if I run into any other deadends but he doesn't do any boring or anything like that.

i should get the jugs back either this afternoon or tomorrow.  the guy that did the boring had to re-set the sleeves because they had slid up some, probably due to the extreme heat this engine saw (per MRieck's words).  he had to put the sleeves back flat then deck it 0.004".

total for this and the boring was only $210, which all in all is a really good deal for what he did!  i'll post pictures when i get it back.

PM me his contact info if you would.

Or, if he doesn't mind, post it in this thread.  Bunch of DFW guys around here.
