The U.S. Library of Congress is housing every single "tweet" (why, I have no idea). Surely they would be interested in housing all our oil threads.. right?  ::)

What nonsense would that be? And is it actually nonsense or just nonsense to you? Gotta be specific.

I'm glad he did. Although I once read a bit about this, I am now reminded that I should switch out my Castrol 10w40 conventional and put in a motorcycle specific synthetic like that Rotella T.

Anybody running this currently?

I am running the synthetic rotella and it has been really good. The convention rotella worked good to but I noticed the difference going to synth.

Me and a customer at my work were talking about the rotella he was saying they changed it a few years ago and it has detergent in it or something to that effect now.

Of course it does. Almost ALL common motor oils have for years. that is no secret. If they didn't, sludge would be a major problem in every engine.

I've been running syn Rotella T 5w-40 in all my motorcycles for years.  Hi performance street bikes to 2 stroke dirt bike gear boxes.  I never had a clutch slip in any of them.  I abused the crap out of that clutch on the single track in colorado and it always holds up.

OK so now here was my experience... my bike is 100% original seal wise.  With 10W40 synthetic it ran quieter... but also leaked like a sive from the shifter seal.  Switched back this change and it runs a little louder for the first few minutes (typical valvetrain honda noise) but no leaks.  Not saying it caused it but my guess is the seal material can't handle it.  If I rebuilt my engine with modern seals I would bet it would do just fine.
