Topic: Yoshimura Rep Installed (again) with video.

Got the new exhaust port gaskets and jets from www.z1enterprises.com yesterday.  Installed new airbox rubbers from www.classicmotorcyclesolution.com. Oil/filter was changed, as well as a bench sync. With the 95 main jets it seems happy.  Maybe still a bit lean?  Good acceleration through all RPMs.  Still not as fast as my triumph 900 triple, but I guess that's to be expected.  While testing it out, my tire hit my tail light mock up, and it's now dangling.

My buddy told me that any stainless pipe will change color like that, and it doesn't specifically mean the bike is running lean.

It was made by Chris at MotoGP. He was the one who origanaly made the pipes for Carpy dont think he does anymore. Thats a 550 not a 750 so Carpy doesnt have these pipes that I know of.

This pipe was made in a small batch by Chris from MotoGPwerks.  The cost was $400+shipping.  He did make the cb750 pipes for carpy, and is a very talented dude.  He worked for yoshi in the R&D department back in the day.

A few forum members got together and asked Chris to make a special set of pipes for 550s like he made for the 750s.  He made them as a favor to the guys here, no profit involved, and it has been a big headache for him for a number of reasons.  I don't expect he is going to make any more, and I don't blame him at all.

Not a Chris pipe.  I believe he stopped making them for Carpy early last year.



Beastman, your bike sounds great!  Did you have stock pipes on before?

I did have stock 4-4 pipes before.  One had a small rust hole that was getting bigger.

As far as I know, yes.  I have not worked the engine at all.
