H4 with halo $12.99 + $19.99 shipping
HID kit $37.49 + $11.49

they are for cars and this is a stock photo of a jeep with the headlights on at night

what i have done with the wiring is (will update with real photos these are all stock photos)

LED bullet tail lights 19.99+2.77 ship

licence plate LED $6.49 free ship

also motorcycle licence plate bracket $20+$10 #$%*

the tach gauge $10
aftermarket mini speedo with my custom blue single LED i soldered in there $48

it has a 48mm face so its pretty small

my 139db stebel electro pneumatic air horn with wire harness package $58.61
ow ya this biatch is super loud

----------------------

wrap exhaust

finish re upholstering my seat ( i will have a detailed post on this)

checking over the bike tightening things

I like the lady art.   :P
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

since i havent updated by build thread in forever because of school and now in the summer im in over drive trying to finish my bike so i can ride ride ride !!!

since i have these pics on hand i thought id share!

just my quick tach resto

cost-
2 X 24cm Car Blue 24-LED Neon Flexible PVC Strip Light $4.99 free ship
misc solder, paint $5

to take off the outside ring i decided to make a very very small slit (then like ive heard you can drop a bead of solder to later re connect the ring on the bottom out of sight) well later when i got to the point to solder the ring back on.... well that was horrible!!! i do not recommend it at all. for one the solder did not want to stick to the ring at all!!! but if you do decide to do the solder you must sand the ring in the section where you are going to solder. then instead of heating the solder and dropping a bead use the highest temperature setting on ur soldering iron and heat the ring up then drop the solder. this took forever and multiple attempts i used a shiat tone of solder because the bead kept on rolling off. i eventually got it

i did the usual painted my tach needle and cleaned up the gauge face

went through the tach mechanics clean and re lubed it

i also painted the inside of the gauge white so the light will pop more (when reassembling the gauge i had to sand down all the ring edges because apparently

its such a tight squeeze the dismal amount of paint i used to spray the gauge it actually made them stack a little higher and couldnt fit the outer ring i cut earlier back on)

then i decided to take out the stock bulbs and replacing them with LED string things

check it out

i used 2 string LED strips and they both fit in pretty nice

*** this is just a google image but this is what i used but in blue

i used the stock wire harness for the original light bulbs and cut off the light bulbs and soldered the LEDs on. i also used the stock water proof grommet things

heres some pics lite up

heres everything re assembled

beautiful!

LOOKS GREAT!

How many did you use per gauge? 2 or did you order two total as in one per gauge?  I am going to order those and copy ya if you don't mind.

when u order them off flea bay they come in pairs.

i put 2 strips per gauge.

this is what the inside of the gauge looks like.

the circles on the top and bottom are the stock holes where the light bulbs fit in.

now the gap between the tach gear cage and the stock light bulb holes to snake them around like a W

i made sure to put the led strip in a W shape (green strip)(bottom) then the second strip as an "upside down W" (blue strip)(on top of the green) the reason i did this was because if you do it in the reverse order u will have a noticeable gap in the light between 5-7000 rpm. making sure that the last strip to be put in is and upside down W shape (blue strip) obviously you want your whole RPM range to be consistent and the bottom of the gauge u wont notice any inconsistency. im not making this up because i did it in the opposite way and you could total tell.

you can feed the wires out of gauge which ever way u want.

when testing them out for fun u can use just a 9v battery to turn the LED on and off. the battery u put ur tongue on and it shocks u.

also here is a gauge another member did

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=67321.0

i first did it this way and used a LED ring but i did not like how it turned out

as u can see the picture above the ring of light is just simply a ring and you can see the individual square LED. it just wasnt my look and installing them was way way way more of a pain in the ass.

this member actually took out some of the LED to separate the ring in the tach.

=====================================================================

also on a side note i only did the tach. i have no idea what the inside of the speedo looks like. i would image the case is exactly the same and nothing will get in the way.

ow really they lock up? ill make sure to take it off the bike and put it in my house during winter. the horn does have a temperature range of operation cant be to cold or to hot apparently. im also modding the horn too since its so big i cant really fit it anywhere. im going to disconnect the horn and the electric air compressor and put a 1/4 tap on it and run a air line so i can put the horn anywhere. its so dumb to because the electric compressor thing has to be perfectly vertical.

I got my turn signals from lockhart philips. only 19 bucks each. dual filament for running lights single for non running lights. One of each. What does your seat look like? You can mount them into the frame hole that is stock on the rear. Front, you can hook up on the bucket.

Excellent stuff - where did you get the H4 Halo and HID kit?

well the H4 halo i got on ebay for $12 and $20 shipped go figure right

it was called "65-78 FORD MUSTANG 7" HALO DIAMOND HEADLIGHT H4 66 67"

the seller was "acekogyo"

but i checked on ebay again and i could not find anything. there was a couple halo ones but they where all projector style. so idk maybe they stopped selling them period but at the time there was multiple sellers selling the item.

the hid kit is just some generic H4 motorcycle HID kit. they are ridiculously cheap on ebay. i mean they are so cheap to where if the bulb burns out just buy another kit since the HID bulbs themselves are practically the same price.

frame holes in the back are used for my tail lights.

im going to run no blinkers for a bit and see if i get pulled over.

worst comes to worst i will probably get an LED strip under my seat that blinks left or right. then take some led strips and wrap them around my front forks above my bottom triple tree and use those for my front blinkers or get some bar end blinkers. but i also have bar end mirrors and i dont want my bars to get super long and cluttered so i will have to look into it.

my seat is still in progress. i will have a write up and all that jazz when it is finished and when i have enough pictures. this fri i will be finished. at the moment i have all the raised diamond stitching and now i will be up holstering after cutting down the foam.

im making sure to keep it a 2 seater for the ladies  8)

so i will have 2 separate LED strips that are yellow mounded under my seat pan. so when i open up the seat to use the helmet strap holder they LED strips will move with the seat.

the led strips can be cut down to fit so it should be easy. with a solid state flasher and since these are just LED it would be an easy mod

Matt

hahaha nice! ya they are super bright and they look uber cool.

although the ring and little bulb will serve as my day time running lights which in the sunlight are kinda faint but there.

and when u turn the HID lights on it deff washes out the halo ring. so mostly its just for show when the bike is parked at night.

As someone who had non functioning signal lights for a little while, I wouldn't leave them as an after thought.

I already feel like drivers out there are waiting to hit me, don't make it easier for them by not having signal lights!
