thanks for the encouragment FJ!  its funny cause i litteraly used the same string and vac trick last night to run my right side controls.. it was so much easier.

so after i completed getting the rest of the wires through the bars it was time to solder the ends back on.. oddly enough i have never soldered in my life ahaha. A good buddie of mine let me use his sweet little snap on butane iron, let me tell you that thing kicked ass!

took me a little while but i got them all done and shrink wrapped..

this stuff is AWESOME. Techflex. fire retardent and everything. for those not famliar it works by pushing the wrap together, it will expand up to an inch to let you feed your wires through, kinda like chinese finger cuffs  :P. after you let it go it shrinks to the exact size of whatever your covering. complely removable if need be and reusable.. looks pretty nice too

also got my filters put on.. i know these arent the best option but they will do for now.. and they actually fit.

That wire wrap looks great. Where did you find it????  Expensive?

Sorry. Found it online. What size did you end up using?  This stuff looks like a great alternative to tape!

What I found couldnt have worked out better if I planned it.. Couldn't believe it ahahahaha. I picked up 2 twelve inch sections of chromed bathroom drain pipe with a single flange on one end.. This is what I came up with..
This stands as one of my all-time favorite mods/fixes. :)

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

I've been looking at some Billet mounts for the headlight..with the pipe over the fork its about 40-42mm and I've seen some that will fit. Just need to find one I like..

I had asked bambu about some bar clamps he had and he said he get them from carpy... After looking at them I couldn't justify spending 40 bucks for them.. It was time to get creative.. Can't complain with the results  :)

Got the cut off wheel out..

Shaped them up a bit

Got them shiny

Slapped them on

In other news I got all the paint, primer and clear for the bike today too  ;)

I was going to do the same thing for the bar clamps - but then I had a triple from a 750 parts bike. They have the separate pieces if they have the other type of idiot light piece. Amazing how easy they polished up.

Looking good my man. Coming right along!

Also got the tank primed and wetsanded.. I have a buddy of mine who is an amazing body man coming this week to help me tape out my design..

IRL is it more like the first picture or second? The first looks like Kawasaki green and the second looks like an awesome sea-foam. I like it either way.

Def more like the second pic.. It's hard to capture the color, esp under floresent light. It's called Celeste.

Nice!  Reminds me a bit of the Bianchi color.

the frame will def be white.. just not this season. I figure if i go as far as taking the motor out to do the frame it'll just open up a whole new can of worms because i know ill end up tearing the motor apart and itll never get done for this summer.. i want to know for sure the im comfortable on it befor i really go to town on it ya know..

What pods did you end up using?  Do they fit underneath your side covers?  (it looks like you plan to put the covers back on)  I'm doing something similar with my 74' and there isn't much room on the outside carbs especially after the covers are in place.

Looks great!

the side covers dont go over the carbs bud .. they go over the battery and the fuse/Relay panel.  :)
