I've got a bad hip and I found it nearly impossible to get my 78K up on it's center stand. Until I discovered the trick of running the front tire up on a short piece of 2 X 4, then it becomes easy to pull it back onto the stand. Just remember to kick the 2 X 4 out from under the tire once it's up there.

You could always build one of these.  Not easy to take with you, but easy 'nuf to keep in a handy spot in the garage.

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Hey, the only time my bike is on the center stand is when I have to remove a wheel; the rest of the time the stand hangs on a peg on the wall. ;)
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

I have thrown my back out getting her on the centerstand.  So, I get help now.

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

i used to get someone to help me until i saw this video. i did what this guy did and i laughed at how easy it was.

Centerstanding a Goldwing, rear

first of all that's cheating, he's on a hill. also he weighs a good bit more than me it appears.

i'm not sure about the hill, but he's putting an old goldwing up, so that's not really cheating. i'm not much more than 5'9" and around 160 pounds. i really really struggled to try and get it on the stand for months, and had to have someone come over and get it on the stand so i could do some work. i watched this video (there is also the same video shot from the side), and it really made it easy. the way he steps on the stand, then turns and leans back.

i'm not saying your bike isn't hard or impossible to put on the center stand, i'm just saying that mine was hard and impossible, and now it's not. at least after this thread i don't feel like i was alone.

good luck.

Trust me that little bit of an incline makes ALL the difference.
He's also lifting with the rear grab bar. I don't have one of those.

On level ground I have to hop on the center stand with all my weight, and pull it back while lifting the bike by the frame.

On just a slight incline I can rock it back on to the center stand using just the bikes momentum and my weight on the center stand.

My 800lb Venture is easy.  The newer wings are basically the same.  It the initial wiggle that would freak someone out.  But momma's bike is flippin' heavy!

I think it has more to do with the design of the center stand than anything else.  Many bikes bigger than the 750 are much easier to get on their center stands.  The '79 KZ1000 I had for a while was a cinch to get up.

I thought the newer Goldwings had a hydraulically? (or not) powered centerstand?
