Clubman Handlebars/Taillight recommendation

Hey guys. I just ordered a new set of blubman handlebars for a 78 550. When i install these, is there anything special that i have to do in terms of brake lines, cable adjustments, etc? As is sits now, the bike is bone stock. I want to do mild tweeks to it, but, keep it mainly original. Also, any recomendations on a new taillight and rear turn signal combo while keeping original rear fender? I have founs a few on fleabay and amazon, but, wanted to get your thoughts.

Yes. Your upper brake line will be too long. You'll have to reroute the clutch and throttle cables. I'd recommend going through Slingshot Cycles (a member here) to order a set of SS (or rubber if you prefer) clip-on/clubman length brake lines (because you should probably replace them anyway). Then either look up how to shorten the clutch cable, or send motion pro an email to get a set of custom length cables. You may also have some clearance issues with your headlight bucket (or gauges, or blinkers, I can't remember) from the master cylinder and clutch cable, depending on how you angle them.

Clubmans should not present any clearance issues with the tank -- only some clip-ons and depending on the angle and height they are mounted.  As Dmitri posted, you will need shorter brake, throttle and clutch lines.  The vendors recommended (Slingshot for brakes, and Motion Pro for throttle and clutch) are solid.  I would recommend stainless lines for your brakes.

Glad I read this, I also have a 550 and will be putting clubmans on this winter. Thanks for the info!

Is this motion pro cable build to order or off the shelf? I would call an find out. Place I get my cables from have 3 different length cables all for 550's. You can shorten cables pretty easy also
