Hope the bike shows up Dave.
And just as importantly, the sub human prick that took it.

If you find the bastard, send him up here to Darwin mate.
We still like to meter out punishment for thieving mongrols the old fashioned way.
It frees up the police resources and also the courts.
They generally don't reoffend again.

I'm more than happy to chip in a bit if it can help Danny out.
Us mob have done it before and we can do it again if needed.

Mick

Unfortunately, those days are gone here mate {i do miss them} surprising what a good old fashion "flogging" does as a deterrent...

Exactly my point. The trouble is , here  a large amount of criminals have unlimited amounts of legal funds to defend themselves, or better yet and more likely, no one [who actually  prosecutes] will ever consider their crime.

They are called elected officials, who generally do what they want to remain electesd.  Recent court rulings make it easier to buy their influence as "campaign donations."

Once in a while it actually does blow up in an elected official's face, but it's getting harder to light that fuse.

BTW, Happy 4th or Bastiel Day or what other anachronistic holliday you have about national sovreignty and  fighting tyranny this summer!

Ha ha, no idea what relevance your reply has got to do with my post mate, but considering that possibly as many as 1 in 4 ordinary Americans are convicted felons, it follows that some of your elected officials will be as well. Who elected them anyway? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

So Wassa's now got Danny's bike, and the cops got the money for it? Fcuking QLD Police, what a bunch of Karnts! I think we should start a fund to buy it back from Wassa for Danny. Put me down for fifty bucks Dave. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Good work Dave and Wassa, and if there's no auction documentation, chances are you know who stole it, and what to do about it.........  ;) ;D

Danny reported it stolen so its in the Police system, some desk jerk, i mean clerk hasn't done the relevant checks before putting the bike to auction, if thats what has happened, I would have Danny calling the Police station where he reported it stolen first thing Monday morning...... Good spotting Dave.... ;)

Having gone  through it a couple of times I hope the bike isn't too #$%*ed up and my personal justice for bike thieves would be to smash their hands. Tell him Dave that I feel for him.

What would you expect from a colony of inmates?

This could never happen in the good 'ol USA.

I know you are only kidding Fiddy, but after reading the following info from Wiki Answers just now, I feel pretty darn safe living here in this ol' penal colony............. ;D

"How many us citizens are convicted felons?

Answer:

I'm not certain an exact figure is known or published. People would be too shocked to learn the actual number. About a year ago there were 2.5 million people locked up in US jails and prisons. We are the largest incarcerator in the world. No other nation is even close to housing the number of prisonsers we house. We are responsible for roughly 25% of the world's incarcerated population, yet our entire population is only 5% of the world total.

Let me try this another way, The state of Michigan has been tracking the number of convicted felons in the state since about 1920 by issuing a unique six-digit number to every convicted person. In 2003, that number reached 500,000. Within one year, it was at 700,000. By the end of 2005 it was nearing 900,000. Michigan rarely reissues numbers and typically only when a felon dies in custody does that number get reissued. So, the actual number of convicted felons in the state of Michigan is right around 900,000. Estimate up to the million person mark, as it is currently 2010 and the trend has only increased (a million is actually conservative), and the number of convicted persons in Michigan reaches slightly higher than 7%. Use that figure for the entire US and you get 2,450,000. I know, it doesn't work; that number is lower than the total number incarcerated in 2004. So what does that say? The number of Americans with felony convictions is much, much greater than 7%. Figure safely that it is around 15% to 25%.

Sounds like your police department stole it the second time or would they be considered an accomplice??!! Either way it is illegal. I'm thinking they need to be charged until they make it right. How about a newspaper article written up about the incompentency of the PD and how they illegally stole then sold the bike?
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Yes it does Jerry, I have decided to do some looking into this for the poor old guy that owns it, he is old guy with a bung leg and bad back and it was his only means to get around and almost his only possession, he's a really nice, harmless old fella and doesn't deserve this at all.. The Police have apparently tried to be evasive about the bike and  exactly what happened , there's a little bit more to the story i'll keep to myself at the moment , anyway,  I have a lawyer calling me back tomorrow and i have also spoken to the state ombudsman's office about this  and we have been advised to, if we are getting nowhere, to write directly to the commissioner of police, I will be drafting up a letter once we have gotten legal advice.... We are also getting some inside advice from a Police officer who is also quietly looking into it for us ...More on this soon.....  I am extremely pissed off with some of the stuff i have heard about this recently..... >:(

Well Dave, Wolfsbane has just PMed me and told me " after daves sneaky little adventure instead of being straight up with me i will not be dealing with him again "  He plans on selling this bike knowing that we are trying to do the right thing and get it back to its rightful owner, and its being investigated internally by the Police and after talking to a lawyer tomorrow I'll clearly know where we stand but he has no intention of waiting, he has made that clear. He wants a $1000 for it now which is a joke , He paid $400 for it, then $500 and now he has just told me $700 and he wants $300 for cleaning it... >:(    He's trying to tell me that " Also have spoken to other buyers and this happens quite alot and in all cases buyer keeps bike/car/other items as where purchased legally. " thats clearly bullsh1t and is the opposite of what i've been told so far..
Dave has done the right from the start, Wolfsbane seems to be making it up as he goes along, after saying in his other thread that he would do the right thing it seems that was also a lie..... some people are clearly not worth the ground they walk on...

Here's the original thread

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=129962.0

The bike is for sale on Facebook currently......  So much for doing the right thing .... >:(

In the states stolen property gets returned to the original owner after it is no longer evidence, and the person who purchased it is usually out whatever money they paid for it.  I've been through that process and it was not pleasant.    Am I reading this right that the present "owner" of the bike knowingly has stolen merchandise and is trying to sell it back to the real owner? ..Larry

Mick I'm not sure what or when decency took a hike, seems like things pass me by as I got older, but I'm pretty sure it's part of the general spiral down to pond scum level for the human race, too many people and you get more #$%*s. If I was younger I'd do a research paper on that subject, whether the percentage of #$%*s grew with population increases or whether the percentage stayed the same and it's just because we see/run into more.

yes and if he does this now, i.e. knowingly, he makes himself a criminal so danny should just go to the cops say "hey this guy is selling my bike that was stolen!"

danny is still the rightful owner, no matter what.

There is such a thing as human decency and doing the right thing.   He(the present possessor of the bike) seems to be lacking in both areas ???...Larry
