Seems this is the month of people leaving groups....
« on: March 23, 2009, 12:02:05 AM »
As of yesterday i am no longer a member of LSR. I chose to leave because i was getting tired of people accusing me of being a stunter along with some other issues i had with the group recently. As you may recall this is the group i was riding with in last years poker run that somehow got turned into a Poker Race!....It was because of the events of that particular run that i started contemplating leaving. Combine that with getting into grief with non riders because of their antics i just didnt want to have anything to do with that bunch any longer. The leader didnt take too well to my leaving stating that he is going to watch my movements and may report me to the police for having an unsafe motorcycle...which is complete BS!!!....Sorry guys..just needed to rant..

Forgot to add this....This is what one of the founders of the group had to say about my leaving.....

"Good riddance, after what i have heard its a better thing that he is not here. i hate to say it but he was pulling us down."

Hmmmm pulling you down by being responsible......Right....

This is true...with the way the conversation went with the so called leader last night i seriously contemplated selling my bikes and just walking away all together. That is how pissed off and upset i was at the time.

Dude, you're a wet blanket.

Or you're growing up a little?  Ever see guys who have a hard time finding Vitalis these days?
I ride alone 99.5% of the time, but I guess you felt those guys were like family?  You want to spread your wings some, they live in an arbitrarily constructed paradigm and feel betrayed.  Your leaving makes them try to ignore the fact that they know deep down that it's all a personal movie and they make the story line up as they go.

Right on UE, me too. Riding can be a personal freedom experience, an all too rare in-the-present meshing of instinct and sensory input, an activity that revives those animal senses we honed over countless generations to survive in the 'real world'. (I read that in an HD ad  :D)   Riding lockstep in formation and compromising to someone elses' tune..nah.

Very well said Ernie

Its probably more of the latter. Had my eyes opened by their actions and decided to go it alone. Way i look at it is this way..im getting myself clear of a potentially distasterous situation waiting to occur. And you are probably right about how the group is. For awhile i thought these guys were good friends but apparently my leaving has shown their true colors..

sounds to me you have a bad case of maturity. they sound like the drunk who's p!ssed off because you decided not to drink your life into the gutter with them.

your actions threaten their sense of legitimacy. you got rid of the baggage keeping you from enjoying riding, so don't give it up now.

kudos.

I left one last year.  It was one devoted to radio(Ham and scanner listening).  I have been into radio longer than I've been riding a bike.  I was only 25 posts into this forum when I was seriously questioned about my experience.  I don't need that crap, so I left.  But not before complaining to the mods.

You are probably right about this. Ever since i started riding with them i have always been second guessing myself and my machine. Actually..when i think about it now..i seemed to enjoy the rides a bit more even when i was just using the bike to commute to work...I think the thing that struck me the most was how the highlights of their summer was just stunting....i should have saved the vids so i could show you what i mean..but yea...there were a couple of them that were just nothing but wheelies or stoppies...basically being squids...
