Primed and painted the head also. still need to bake these parts, blast and paint the valve cover and oil pan and do a few things for my kick start delete before i put it back together. But Im making progress. Having a hard time deciding what color to paint the frame.

Thought earlier in the thread you mentioned you were leaning toward a green for the frame? Are you planning on painting the frame, or powder. There are some really interesting candy powders, that I've been thinking of using for a later build.

Yeah, i would like to do the green if i can find the right color. Paint is cheaper for me because my paint guy owes me one. But if i can find a powder that is a color i would like I wouldn't mind going that route just because it is more durable. I think it will be one of those last minute gut decisions that i will make and have to live with.

I am looking for a Melbourne powdercoater who can do a candy blue that Natchez the CB450 tank colour. I will post pics of the frame once it is done.

Is there a specific colour name for that metallic green often used on race frames?

Thats the way i do it too....

Bloody hard to get a color match from something thats in your head though...

Hey man are you in Vancouver bc by chance? I can't remember... Anyhow I have a good powdercoating contact if you need one. Lots of variety. And descent prices.

Do a Google search for powder colours ffj. That's how I found the blue/grey I used on my 550. I was looking for the colour Lotus used on their early Formula Junior frames. There is a PC place down your way that does a candy powder on chrome rims (just the drop centre section) that looks very trick.

I went and looked at a Triumph Bonniville today. It was a bit overpriced but in the upstairs of this guys shop along with the triumph was a Indian Cub, 2 Chiefs and an inline four. All in nice condition 1/2 covered by tarps and 100% covered i dust. Guy Wanted 5k for a triumph that hasnt run in 5+years and has the wrong carbs.

I went to a friends house!

He has one in his shop for this kind of stuff. He also has a blast cabinet. So i while i baked i also blasted parts to a 1963 Columbia that im restoring.

Well the bicycle is stripped and at the paint shop. everything else is out being chromed.

The CB550 has gotten a little work. Im working on building the electrical panel. Its almost done. I ordered a bunch of connectors for the wire harness and i just need to order a bunch of colored wire.

Up until today i have not spent any of the money i got from selling my CB125. Itried to buy some old triumphs but the 3k i had was never enough. Also looked at a Guzzi. I sold the 2 Cb125 parts bike i had yesterday and just like every other time i sold a ,otorcycle i go out and buy a new one the next day. So today i picked up this one. Needs a bunch of TLC but its a good starting point.
