the problem i have with the 750 tank is the clipons hit the tank. I have 2 options. 1) slide the tank back, like it is in the picture.
2) weld on some metal to move the bump stops forward on the neck. I think i will do a combination of both.

Don't do it! I "adjsuted" the fork stops once.....wished I had never done it!

What you do is "notch" the tank to clear.

That 750 tank and matching bum stop is really the cat's a$$.....you gotta do it!

ok working with the 750 tank. I got my seat pan bent, just need to cut it to shape. Started molding the hump. I think it might be a little long and a little high. What do you think?

now that i look at it i think the seat is to long.

I really like the way the 550 tank looks with it. To me it loks like the tank flows with the lines of the seat and fenders better. But, how much of a fuel difference are we talking here? Do you gain a lot more with the 750 tank? Anyway, I'd go with the 550 tank myself, but it's your bike bro. Build it how you want it, not what someone tells you it should look like.

I agree with what the other said, do it your way.

I like the new setup....not much room under the bum stop, but it can be made to work....especially if you do a bare bones wiring deal like I used.

Amazing how getting your own bike running raises your spirits. Now, BACK TO WORK!

Ok this build is going to be slow as i have to wait for my tank before i move forward with my seat and i cant mount my fairing until i have the tank also.

Any way, my goal on this bike is to loose the weight and then later beef up the motor. My question is do i add a dual disk for more stopping power or do i stick with 1 disk and save the weight. I am going to switch to alloy rims as well.

Pulled the motor so i could finish grinding off old tabs and drop in my spare motor. One man motor pull techniqe?
1 Strap a bar to the motor
2 strap bar to rafters
3 un bolt motor from frame
4 lower bike frame and slide to the side
5 lower motor to ground

Ported head is in the shop getting a valve job and the tank is in its final stages. Said it could be ready by the end of the week.

Interesting build. Love the tank, has the look of a shark, to me. I'd stick with the single disc.

Yeah i think i am going to stay single disk. In fact im almost considering going backwards and finding a fat drum brake for the front. But i think for now i will stick with a single disk. I am a little worried about how the tank is going to fit. The builder only has a frame to go off so i hope it clears the coils, the petcocks are in a good spot and it sits on the frame like it was from the factory. Fingers crossed!!!

Latest photos. Cant wait. I need that tank so i can move on to the seat and fairing. Still really considering a drum brake. Looking at CB450 or 350 front wheel. Was thinking about a name for this Bike. How about.....Alloy...Al...Ally...Allison! Yeah?
