Cqyqte. I like how the motor turned out and the alt cover is very cool. Andy

Looks like your "Harley" friend was especially generous. The alt and points cover look like Kajimas, and the last NOS ones that sold on ePay went for several hundred bucks!  Great looking build; I'm sure the guys at CycleX are keeping a watchful eye. Good luck on the balance of the build, especially with the Maine DMV... ::)  RR

I was put on Earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!

+1 on Andy's comment.  Hardtails aren't my thing, but inspiration can take many forms.  Like your tank fitting detail, and adjusters.  As others have mentioned, but just because we didn't post, doesn't mean we're not watching.

I wish , we should see what that shop is going for..... maybe we could find some people to rent it with,,,,, I have enough tooling to fill it , bridgeport, lathe, tubing bender, welders, and two huge tool boxes full of metal working tools

So I got a few thing tacked up over the weekend,

1st I made up some coil mounts my original plan was to drop the tunnel in the gas tank drop it down cut recess to mount the coils in and keep them hidden, for some reason I have really lost my intrest in keeping things hidden and have started enjoying seeing the mechanics of a motorcycle, I also enjoy how the tank sits on the bike so I didn't want to mess with that as well,  I'll attach a few Pict's in the Pict's it must be the angle I took the photo in but the coils actually follow the line of the tank when viewed from the side

2nd I made a mount for my Rear master cylinder and spun up a peg on the lathe but I'm not sold on the peg 100% yet

3rd I for some reason got completely distracted while working on my brake and found myself working on my rear wheel which was suppose to be completely done (this happens allot with me very easily distracted)
I am toying with the idea of ditching my custom axle adjusters and welding in some plates I made so the rear axle plates will be super clean, I think it will look really cool with just a chrome acorn nut with no adjuster or anything..let me know what you guys think,

Well I hope Santa is good to me and I get some more parts to mount up soon... and since I am my own Santa I cant wait to get some parts I ordered hahahahahah

Take care and Happy Holidays if I don't post before Christmas

personal observation, but I like your adjusters a filler plate.  also keeping the chain adjusted, and truing the wheel will be a much easier job.

Awesome work, only wished you lived closer..  ;D So one question, how do you adjust the chain as it stretches?

Peg looks fine, but run a grimeca down pointing brake(may just be change of bracket) so the brake arm runs under the peg for cleaner look. (maybe shorten peg on brake pedal)

I liked to mount coils, under carbs, then run wire thru the cylinders, then arc them up to the plugs.. far cleaner looking..

If you drill and tap your milled axle adjuster block, you could carve out a clean looking billet cover for slot and axle, hide the whole works..

 just saying..

The chain tensioner I installed will take up all the slack

Some great point some I have thought of as well, I thought of doing what you said about making a whole cover and tapping the adjuster I have already made but than I was thinking of my BMX racing days and had a vision of just having the axle nut and the rest of the axle plate clean would look pretty cool

As far as the coils, with the flat bottom tank I wanted to fill in the space above the engine and I thought it would look cool but I have been wrong before and everything as of now is just tack welded so its no big deal to move something

As far as the brake I have only 5" of groung clearence so I'm not sure about running under the peg yet, plus I'm not sure what I am doing for exhuast,  I'm also not familiar with the pedal you talking about so I will do some research or if you have a link to share be my guest.

Thanks for your thought

Take care

Just Search Grimeca Rear master Cylinder, they come with lever up or down. You can make it but a bit of work..
What are you using for axle nuts? If you thread each end to 3/4 NF ( I think) there is some cool axle nuts from Garner wescott.. top notch stuff.. tapered nut with an internal hex.. very clean looking.

For the pipes try to tun em underneath, or build a gnarly high-pipe.. bit of work but looks cool and gives you ground clearance on a very low bike..
