don't forget the ford ranchero

We used to have the Chevy El Camino and Ford Ranchero, but it's been about 30 years.

My Dodge Ram(s) have nearly sat on the frame bumpers while hauling firewood and didn't tax the braking as much as I expected.  The more recent Dodge trucks handled the weight better than my '70 Chevy 1/2 pickup.  I had that truck loaded so the steering became loose  :o... had to brake a little for the front tires to "bite" in a turn.

Now this is what happens when you can't count.
Half ton ute . . . with over a 2 ton load.
It has about 2 tons of concrete blend and 200kgs of bagged cement in the back.
This photo was taken by an unknown person last week on Old Northern Road, Albany Creek, Qld.

Hhaarrrrr!!! Why am I not surprised Mick.  :D  It's something of an IQ-Free Zone over on the north-side.  ;D

That looks like a pretty good job of piecing together an Edsel and a Ranchero. I especially like that they incorporated the Edsel tail light's.

I cant let the world not see a real Ute! Not many 70 El Caminos made with the ls6 454 450 HP engine. That might have handled the weight.  I wonder if the tires would spin though if you side stepped the clutch at 4K and matted it ;D

That ute looks like a brother of our famous HQ Ute.
To this day, they are still iconic and were a force to be reckoned with especially with a Big Block Chev motor hiding under the bonnet.
The six cylinder sedans and station wagons were a very popular family car and the utes and panel vans were a great work horse for tradesmen and farmers.

A buddy of mine came up with the word "caruck", in reference to my '72 El Camino.

Wow! The fenders on that look like our early 70's Pontiac GTO/LeMans, the grille surround, headlights, & front bumper look like early 70's Buick GS/Skylark, and the grille looks like early 70's Chevelle/El Camino.  Oh, and Kingswood was the name used for our upper tier Chevy station wagons.

heres my premier..for the state siders these sedans and wagons had a half chassis that unbolts and the entire front sheet metal unbolts, the utes and vans had a full chassis, tick the box and order a 173 ci six or a 202 six or a 253 v8 2 barrel or as mine has a 308 v8 4 barrel(qjet) and last option was the 350 chev v8 qjet.1973
