I talked to a few members about Racetech's emulators.... All thumbs up and the cost isn't ridiculous.  Did Godffrey lighten the rear disk as well?

Yes, the rear disk was ground same as the fronts. Going to call Racetech on Monday for some assistance on ordering.

Ordered the Racetech Emulators today. Picked up my freshly mounted, relaced and rebearinged wheels today and mounted the disks up.



Working on rebuilding the rear master cylinder and found no rebuild kits available OEM or after market. Yes, OEM can be found on ebay for twice the price but I found and ordered a gl1000 rear MC kit for $39.

Looks identical as detailed in this post.

Charlie at competition Cycle did the wheel lacing, mounting and bearing replacement. I supplied tires, tubes, bands, oem bearings, Buchanan spokes. He did all the labor and did a great job for a fair price. He is a harley guy and the shop is in Harley's back yard but he really knows his stuff. How many shops have antique Indians, Milwaukee police trikes, 70's choppers and some things I have never seen before sitting in the showroom... fun stuff.

Yeah his shop is right there... He has been working with me on my bike... I drove there 2 times on Monday... He cleaned up some more of my frame.... My last trip there was halted as I got a piece of frame in my eye... I was in the ER Monday and yesterday with the optometrist..

Further development...

Wheels on the ground, at least the front wheel. Racetech emulators installed.
Still waiting on the rear master cylinder rebuild kit.

Rear MC rebuild.

I ordered this MC rebuild kit for a 1975 gl1000 rear.
It appears to be the same as the cb750f kit except the threaded rod is 7mm longer. Easily fixed with the dremel tool. I will install this tomorrow and report back but this is a great option for a rebuild kit that is no longer available.







Rear tire will be on the ground this week. Ordered SlingShot lines and found a front brake line three way joint today at Milwaukee Cycle Salvage. I also got most of the seals and dust covers today from SouthSound Honda. I needed to replace the rear caliper pistons and ordered Godffreys phenolic pistons.

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

The red has a really nice deep candy color to it. I usually just prefer the black frames because I think painting them bright colors makes them stick out too much IMO ... however, I think I like this one!  8)

Thanks! The color is a deep burnt red. Not really Burgundy. (I'm calling it corvette magnetic red because I had a c5 vette this color). A couple of the images I posted that are a little darker are better color rendition. Some of the images that are really better exposure show the color as being lighter that it is.

Got my phenolic rear pistons today from supplier and forum member Godffrey.



The attraction is that they are no more expensive than stock (within a few bucks). The benefit is lighter and no heat transfer from the disks. I get the heat transfer thing... but this is not a track bike (yet!) . Do i really need this? The answer is maybe.... I don't know but it doesn't hurt for about the same price and great availability.

More gl1000 (cb750f) rear caliper rebuild assembly. I didn't even cut the rear threaded bolt down and it seems fine.  We'll see but don't want to jump the gun. Just screwed down the connector to the linkage and no problems yet. This is all rough by the eye adjustment at this point. Will need to do shake down adjustment of course.












Damn... I love it when a plan comes together! I will admit that I did a little whoopdtydo dance in the garage tonight!...
My wife thinks I have totally lost it...

I think the biggest advantage with Godffrey's phenolic pistons is they won't rust..

What rear sets are you running? I see one bracket but they other side looks like it may be mounted different...

I got the fat guy spring rate! You should get the skinny guy springs!!!
You are right, another big advantage to the phenolic pistons is the rust factor.

BTW... The rear sets are Tarozzi all the way. They fit up really nice to the 750f.

Any idea what kind of HP you will have with the mods? Are you running an O ring or 530 x ring?

Some pics tonight.
Still finishing brakes and waiting on SlingShot lines shipped today.
Need piston seals for the front brakes ordered locally today.
While I am waiting on parts, decided to move forward and start looking at fitting the seat pan.
Need to sculpt it to the bike and widen the front a bit. Got the MotoLanna 37mm headlight ears today as well. Don't know if I want to use the stock bucket or not...

That was kick-a$$!!  I like the little trip to the attic to get the furniture dolly and the missus with the laundry.  Bravo in doing it yourself and going unscathed (both the frame, your back and your knuckles!!).

I see you went with the Motolanna 37mm headlight ears, like my bike.  I took a suggestion from forum member brandEn and inverted them, so they slant upward.
