Another long dry spell!
I was just at the Manx Grand Prix / Manx Classic where I got some really great build ideas. The British bikes were plentiful with all the absolutely gorgeous Nortons. The Aluminum Manx tanks caught my fancy and I have been in contact with Sean from Roc City cycles about building me one. Here is a teaser from the 2014 Jurby festival of speed on the Isle of Man. The most amazing motorcycle gathering I have ever witnessed. More video to come when I can edit 4.5 hours down to a palatable amount.

Only this video Nick. There were thousands of bikes from around the world, many I have never heard of. This includes the paddock and the amazing bike parking lot!  Much more video to come when I get it all edited down. I'll post that elsewhere on the forum. The Honda powered Norton was something quite unique and he did have it out on the track. Now that I think of it, I might have video of that.

Jurby is an old RAF air field that is now a race track. I think its about 2 miles long and is like our club racing in the US. Easy going, gentleman's racing for the most part. These are rare vintage bikes that you don't want to beat up too bad.

The Manx tank and aluminum seat pan will look awesome on the 750!

Polished Norton tank spotted on a 915-kitted CB750 at the salt-flats.............very clean and custom 'cafe' build from Pacific NW.  He ran 135-mph with CR29s or 31s (not sure which) with 115 jets.

Well, I kind of forgot about this post but here is an update from this past summer. The bike is still not fully tuned but its running. Its close but its been a long build.

Nick, Thats a find that my buddy bought and I bought it from him. Its a 1974 with a later motor in it. I'm going to clean it up and paint and go through the top end and carbs. It needs a head gasket for sure.

Great service/product.  In addition to the drilling, Godffery's rotors are resurfaced and thinned/lightened, AND the mounting holes are countersunk so that the stock rotor bolts can be used.  Otherwise, you need to source longer bolts to span the second rotor carrier.

Just to put an exclamation point on this very old build thread, I just finished adding PD42B carbs yesterday and went for a quick 5 mile ride. (38º) It felt really good even with just bench synced carbs. We'll see how close I am with the jets, I started with 42/130 as this is a ported 836 motor. Carb sync is next though.

I think the TinTop filter is a very nice design. I was able to get the larger intake boots to fit the PD carbs thankfully. Its not the prettiest one out there but I think its a good performer.

Very nice.  Why the carb change?

The round tops simply would not work with the Manx tank and I did not want to modify it. It was either PD's or go with something for real performance like RS34's.

I am on board with your; performance over looks. (providing it's not completely impractical or down right ugly) I haven't tried TinTop's filter yet but it seems like a pretty solid design from the pix I have been really sold on the K&N filtration vs air flow specifications so I just haven't wavered from that on my builds.

 BTW; The bike turned out beautifully, Nicely done!
