Here is my '69 in Dec. of '70. I bought it for $1,450I was stationed in the Air Force north of Dallas and here is a picture of it during a little snowstorm. Notice I added some gold jelly hand grips!
Winnemucca, NV. BOTH CBXs had alternator failures the day before, so we pulled out the headlight fuses and limped into Winnemucca. I had long-lost cousins there, so I got in touch with them. Turned out my cousin's husband was a biker, and they welcomed our motley crew. We tore down the CBXs in his small garage, and found worn out alternator brushes on both bikes. Try to find OEM CBX brushes in 1979 in Winnemucca. Yeah, right. We went to an electric motor shop and got some brushes that were close, and filed them down to fit into the Honda brush-holders.
