Here's an uh oh pic from 77 , I totaled my first brand new K8 and broke a few bones . I went faster than the headlight and hit a culvert then a tree ! Made the paper !
Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

I wish I had a picture of it, but in (I think) 1983, I rode my buddy over to get his MC endorsement using his dad's CB500/4. In those days the biggest/fastest bike I had ever ridden was my Yamaha YR2 350 2-stroke twin, so the 500 felt like a superbike.

Starting a thread showing photos I found on the internet of riders having a good time on their SOHC back in the 70's and 80's.  Back when these machines were everywhere and revolutionized the motorcycle industry.  Looking for any photos of what it was like back in the day.  Racing, chopper, cafe, touring, trikes etc.  I'm trying to get a sense of what it was like back in the day. Anything from the Internet is fine - they don't have to be yours or pictures of you.  I'll start with some old photos I found on the internet

(that's a sandcast on it's side)

Weren't you glad for that early Vetter Phantom fairing protecting it? :D
