Help me foil this perpetrator
« on: August 04, 2012, 11:59:55 AM »
Buddy at a party last night hid my bike in the bushes where I couldn't find it. Party at the same house tonight, I have the feeling he's gonna do it again. Help me think of a clever booby trap to either immobilize his efforts or at least turn the prank back on him 8)

Yeah ... me too ...
you can Fuk around with me to my face all you like ... but don't mess with my bike!

Does hey ride a bike?

Squirt a puddle of oil under it (and a dab on the engine where it's likely to leak from)
Harmless... but could be highly effective depending on the target.

Go to where he parks his bike.. daytime.... put a couple drops of oil under it, next day a few more, next day, few more than that..

after about 4 or 5 days.. when others are around.....casually ask hiom if he is glad he messed with your ride..

If he has a bike, wad up a small piece of paper, pull a plug cap and jam the paper wad in the cap, replace the cap on the plug. If's an inline 4, do one (or 2) of the middle plugs. Or, pour some outboard oil in his gas tack, enough to make it smoke like hell. Cliff.

A friend and co-worker used to walk up and unexpectedly give me a "friendly" punch on the shoulder or in the belly. Trouble was, he out-weighed me by 100 pounds, and his gentle taps either knocked my off stool, or knocked the wind out off me. The last time he did it was at a convenience store, picking up munchies on our break. I was about to get back in my car, next to his beloved CBX, when an evil thought crossed my mind: I pulled the two middle plug wires off the plugs, and laid them next to the plugs, so that they appeared to be in place.
A half hour after our 15 minute break was over, I saw him out of the corner of my eye, headed straight for me down the aisle like a locomotive. I turned and started to beat feet, when he yelled out "Truce!! Please!!! Truce!!!"  ;D

get a lead pencil(graphite)and scrub a heavy line down from the connector to the hex on a spark plug then replace the cap, itll track spark down the pencil line and missfire.

Yeah, the pencil line thing would work, but just pulling the plug wires is faster and easier. One of the tricks they would do in the old Chrysler trouble-shooting contest was to draw a graphite line inside the distributor cap, from post-to-post, or post to ground at the distributor body. Very tough to diagnose, even with a scope, and almost invisible to even a trained eye.

A cup of ATF in the exhaust, it will blow sh!tloads of white smoke when it starts to warm up.  +1 on the lead pencil on the spark plug.  Whatever you do, don't grease the controls, a mate of mine had this done to him by one of his workmates and it nearly put him under a truck.

I'd put a surgical clamp on his fuel line.

Kills the bike - but easy to find and remove.

Put vaseline on his fuse clips/ends
Buy some pink sidewalk chalk and give him a set of pinkwall tires....
Reverse his mirrors so they are pointed to the front.
Apply numerous hearts or other graphics with chapstick on the face of his mirrors.
Get a vinyl sign shop cut you in white or bright yellow vinyl, "diĀ¢-less sits here" printed on two lines and apply it where he would straddle.
Put a sardine in each of his exhaust pipes...once that bakes in it will reek everytime the pipes get hot.
Trap a mouse and put it inside his battery cover atop his battery...also place shredded newspaper and other mouse like nest material in the "nest"  if you want him to worry be certain to include bits or MC wire insulation in the nest near the top so its obvious. You can wash it after chipping and clipping it and then chew on it so it is mangled like a mouse chewed it. No stripped  ends of wire if you want it realistic.

Find a couple screws that look like they would be to his points cover or some greasy/oily 6 mm nuts and tape them on his seat. It will drive him nuts looking for where you took them. Have on of them be to his bike for a cover could lead him to a search expedition.

Scottly, your a friend and I would never prank you bikes,

the sardine one is kinda nail in the coffin for a friendship as one that heavy putrid oil burns into the exhaust it is gonna take some harsh measures to eliminate it.
Visual side benefit, all manner of cats will hang around the bike, climbing all over it.

Another simple one would be to pull several vale inspection ports and leave them on the seiat.  He'd have freshly adjusted valves either before he left or shortly afterwards. The ride home would be pucker listening for abnormal sounds.
