I just wanted to add that I had a great weekend!  I am so glad you guys decided to brave the weather and come out.
Honestly, this trip is one of the biggest things I look forward to each year.

And I'm sorry I was not feeling too well on Sunday morning.  I think I need to not use a 30oz tumbler to drink keg beer.  Maybe work on moderation. LOL

Thanks for bringing Eddie along, for the killer breakfast tacos and for the glorious hay!  Best of luck on your promotion, too. I’m sure you’ll do a great job.

Another GREAT event guys, so glad we all ignored the forecast and went regardless. We had some good laughs and a good ride up to the rock.  The band on Sat afternoon was really good too.

We really should do a camp/ride event twice a year, I'd be willing to host the camp portion at my local campground [there are showers!].  Maybe April?

Here are some photos....

The Funrun, this guy was ready for low water crossings!

The new saloon and the band on Sat...

Chris' excellent firepit...

Glad y’all stayed dry.  I was keeping an eye on the weather.

Next year I’m sending out a memo to all family members letting them know that if they get sick the weekend of the Classic they will be on their own.

Hey Guys...for you guys who was razzin' me about the tailgate on my Tacoma, want you to know it has been repaired.

After a little research on the Tacoma forum, the weak tailgate is a very common problem for the 2nd generation Tacos.

So, first I installed some 3/4" steel angle to strengthen it internally....

Then I ordered and installed a new powdercoated steel tailgate cap [$115] to replace the flimsy plastic stock one. A member on the Tacoma forum developed and manufactures them and sells 'em on ebay. It's a stout piece and uses original hardware to install...

And since you didnt like my rotting old school wood ramp, I bought an alum one...

Will be trying this out when I go to the races at COTA in a couple weeks, plan to bring one of my "pit bikes", my brother is racing there...

Steve - the tailgate fix looks perfect and the ramp looks a little high cotton compared to the toothpick you were using.

I’m game for a weekend in April.  I can do any weekend except the weekend starting Friday the 12th. The month of May is pretty much shot as far as schedule goes.  Showers sound nice.

I ran into Joe this weekend at World Market.  Something about Vegemite...

Hey Jeff...   MotoGP is April 12-14th so wouldnt want to do it that weekend anyway. And might be hard for the guys going to the races to head out of town two weekends in a row, we've had that issue before.

Maybe Apr 26-28?

Anybody still want to go camping? Month of April is loaded for us. Would March 22-24 work for anybody else?

I’ve got several things I have to be at that weekend...

Got the bottom end of the 550 back together!   It’s on hold now while I get the GL650 ready to sell.

I have a friend moving back to PA from TX. She has a complete CB750 runner, a cb550 engine, parts and complete carbs. She’s asking $1800 for everything. Clean Texas title in hand. If anyone is interested, I can store until October and bring with me to the Harvester. She might take less.

For anybody interested coming up Thursday night, Stonewall Inn has a special for $89 for the night. There is a party deck above the office for a pre-Harvest throw down.

You have five Hondas and none are running?!  Shameful!

Thought the mindset was to have more than one so in the event of a issue there is a backup?

I won’t be able to make it this year.   I’ve got commitments that weekend that I can’t change.

Steve - I finally got the 550 engine back together and in the frame, but had to stop there so that we could pack up and move.  We’re renting until sometime next summer when the new place is ready, so I won’t be able to get it running until after the move.

Gonna miss seeing everyone. I expect some good pictures and stories!

Jeff

It is sad. Everything is broken.  I should be able to get the CJ working in time. It needs the least to get it going.

I’m planning on being there.  I’ll probably stay in Bandera.  Probably get there on Thursday and ride the three sisters on Friday.
