Front end came in...all very nice!  Black powder coated legs with new tubes and progressive springs.  He had the super bike bars flipped, so I'll have to re-work those to set up in the standard position.

I'll be using some aluminum rims from a 750A or a GL1000 (can't remember)...the rear is meaty, but I have to find a hub and spokes...the front is laced up already, but the brake disc needs to be swapped.

What is the front end from?

They look bent in that pic on the carpet.

Dang Stev-o!  You're right.  I had to measure to make sure, and they're only off by 1/4".  Dang...I can't use those superbike bars either.

A K5.  The legs are powder coated.  I bought it all from another member.

Thanks!

Forgot to mention that the wheel is from a GL1000.  It's the same hub and spokes, but the rim is aluminum.  I'm using a rear rim (buying from Bill Benton) from a CB750A.

Started in on the carburetors.  They'll clean up alright.

I turned my later fuse assembly into an early style single-fuse setup with a pair of prongs left to hold a spare.  It screws onto the battery box for this bike, and I didn't want to spend more money where it's not needed on the real part.  I cleaned up the connectors, and it will function just as I need it to with the K0 harness.

The rectifier looks good, and won't need any work.  My starter solenoid however, was FRIED.  I've opened up a few of these, but have never seen worse corrosion or deeper pits.  I would have just filed down the contacts and run it, but the yellow/red wire was hanging on by two strands going into the piece you can't open up, so it's toast...luckily I have a spare that's been rebuilt.

I'd just buy some new bars from 4into1.  So many used bars are bent why take a chance?

Tapered steering bearings installed with the new forks today.  Rolled it out into the sunshine...realized I'm going to thank myself later if at this point I just pull a few more parts off, mask everything else, and rattle can the frame.

Hey, how far would you go cleaning up the spokes on that aluminum wheel you sent?  Think I need to disassemble it?

Painted the frame with Rustoleum and a foam brush.  Spent less than $20 and probably added a few hundred to the eventual asking price ;)

Hey Greggo........you been riding?

Not at all man...thought about picking up a ZRX1200, but decided not to spend the dough. I'll have this one finished by the end of summer.

The 500 with the Lesters? Gone...sold to pay for sandcast project parts.  That bike was ready for a whole lot of work that I didn't want to do.  Really, I just miss those wheels ;)  If I could find a cheap 16" rear, or even a decently priced 18" I could pair with my NOS 19" front I'd throw them on this bike.

Drilled and wired some bars with new Yamiya switches.  Still working on the RC Webers.

I'm pretty excited about it.  I just this morning ordered the last couple pieces I need to put the second carburetor back together.  Still lots to do on the bike..have a 16" rear Lester in poor cosmetic shape that needs to match a NOS 19" front.

A little progress...the internally wired bars are on.  The shock lowering mounts are off, and the KONI's are on.  I repainted the keyswitch bracket and put that on.  The second Weber body is cleaned, and ready for reassembly.

Those Koni's are decent shape. Did you rebuild/service them?

They're in good shape, no rebuild.  The threads on the clevis are pretty much stripped, so I have those longer bolts and nuts.  I'm thinking about drilling a hole for a cotter pin.

Greggo, I'm disappointed in a sense. I like what you're doing here, but I really wanted to see that turbo bike go. ;)
