1978 550 tank on a 1975 550k?
« on: December 08, 2015, 10:28:02 AM »
Will this be a direct bolt-on or will I have issues trying this?

It's less of a spark plug clearance problem and more of a "the seat gap doesn't line up correctly" problem.

Ahhh...so, in theory, if someone also sold me a seat that matches up to the '78 tank, then we might be in good shape?

Yes, OR you could unfasten the seat from the hinges, adjust and re-mount to the hinges to accommodate for the gap.

Perfect.  Thanks for the insight.  I thought I might have to put these immediately onto the Classifieds forum prior to taking the '75 apart!  Now I have faith that we'll be able to figure it out!
