I think it looks great, but the side cover looks a little darker in that pic. How 'bout in person?

Planet Blue first appeared on the European market K2 and continued to be sold there up to the introduction of the K6. Planet Blue made it’s debut on the USA market K5 with different tank decals. Both models used the same identical Honda paint color codes: PB-27MC and MV. How many were sold is anyone's guess as Honda didn’t publish those numbers. Here’s a Euro Planet Blue K2 to compare:

In person you really cant tell a difference to be honest. Its surprisingly close. Ill make sure to get more pictures uploaded soon.

The sun came out today so I was able to get a few pictures of the bike. Tank is OG side cover is new paint.

Hey racinchase, thanks so much for posting the formula. I'm getting ready to have my tank painted, and you may be saving me  much cash compared to CollorRite or VMR. I do have one question before I go to the paint shop. I'm a bit confused as to why the colors to be mixed are listed twice and in different quantities on the top and bottom of the receipt. Is the list at the bottom the final/correct mix ratio, as in:

Blue   26.6
Bright Adjust   39.5
HS Black   47.6
MedCourse AL   52
Violet   54.5
LS White   54.8
B/C Balancer   174.6
Binder   217.9

just print the card out and take it to a auto body shop. They should be able to mix the paint based off those numbers.

Thanks for taking the time to do this I know how much work it is to color match stuff up.  Who knows if we get enough good paint recipes maybe we can post them in one common thread and get a sticky made?  Just an idea.

Actually, a great idea.  You have Sunrise Orange?   I'd like the Olive color for my 550.

I want freedom green.  I have a good set of side covers and a tank with a dent though.  If I can ever save the money to get my spare painted I'll post the code as well.

Ok sounds like everyone has there homeworks assignments.  I would like freedom green as well and maybe gold.

I wonder if that autobody shop that did the blue can help with the other colors.  Napa paint just did not seem to have the tech where I am to do the candy orange.  Maybe the flake throws the reading off?

I used to match paint at a hardware store and the computer would give a score to let you know how accurate the reading was.  Do autopainters machines work the same way so you don't have to pay to have your stuff painted before you find out its totally wrong?  I can understand a little sway in the color but want to avoid major discrepancies.

Candy paint and metal flake paints are beyond most machine's capability. The transparent nature of candy paints combined with the reflection of the flake overcome most sensors. Just no way to package a single stage candy flake equivalent. Might look close but it doesn't have the color shift and depth of traditional method.

Yeah that is if he hasn't sold those recipes off already.  Great idea though!

Although the paint codes are there for the candy finishes the color actually comes from the amount of paint you apply out of the gun, more paint = darker color and visa versa , you can see this in the different tones in the Gold painted bikes, rare to see 2 exactly the same....  My point is , there is more to it than just knowing the paint codes with candy colors...

No some are metallic, flake sunrise orange and the Candy gold are good examples of a candy. When looking at the Honda colors they usually say "metallic" or "Candy" in the name....

I see
