hey Portland folks:

we're moving shop in december, and will have a few parking spaces available if anyone needs a dry, safe place to park during the rainy times. spaces are $25, and are secure. we're pretty central, near 19th and sandy. PM me if interested.

Got my key cut today at the locksmith shack in the parking lot of Fred Meyer on 28th and Broadway. There was a little confusion of whether I said "B" or "D" in the code, but once we worked that out, got 2 keys that work! $20 for the first one and $4 for each copy after that. Seems like they could make most Honda keys with code from the ignition cylinder.

yeah....they didn't fire it up until I was leaving...seemed to die when they kicked it in gear but I saw the rear wheel go around!

Howdy all,
just wanted to shout out another sohc 4 owner hailing from Portland with a 75 cb400f. I'll definitely keep an eye on this thread as the weather improves and hopefully will get to meet some folks.

I'm currently procrastinating doing the winter work needed on the bike - having a new front wheel built and figuring out if I have a cam chain problem or not.

That being said, if there's anyone who is willing to listen to my bike and let me know if the sounds like the cam chain is loose, I would appreciate that deeply.. I have no basis for reference, but it certainly doesn't sound like I think it should. I have been unable to get it to stop sounding like a rattletrap mess by any cam chain adjustment methods I can find, and I'm convinced the plunger is stuck, so getting a second opinion before I tear the motor down would be great, if anyone can offer that.

the 400s can definitely have a loud cam chain... hell, all of these can. swing by the shop sometime this week and i'll take a listen. PM me for a time.

yes, reputable as far as i know. i knew oliver when he worked at vicious, but haven't made it over there since they opened up. one of the only other places in town that will work on 70's hondas.

Oliver at Moto-Factory is a good guy, my friend Duncan (Starkmojo here) takes his 750 into him for all of his work. Nice guy, clean shop, German sensibility. PM Starkmojo for further recommendation.

I always like riding by and seeing the bikes out front. Nice to have a shop so close by...My 500F will most likely make it's way over there at some point.

Hey Portland folks......got more sunshine nowadays, isn't it about time for some sort of spring kickoff event yet? Maybe meet at Timberline for a "Snow to Sand" run to the beach? or a rally/race around the mountain? Spring break's not that far off for all you student types....

The Flying Fifteen's Spring Opener is this Sunday:

The Flying 15 Motorcycle Club welcomes you to the 14th Annual Spring Opener Rally on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Once again we will be starting off at Kelly’s Olympian located at 425 SW Washington St. in Portland. Three blocks of free parking will be reserved for rally participants so motorcycle parking is never a problem. Registration starts at 10:00am, but come early for hot coffee and breakfast specials. Ride starts at 11:00am with the last bike out at 12:00. Registration fee is a $10 donation and will include a poker run card, ride map, event pin and free pass to the after party. Additional poker hands can be purchased for $5 each. The first 200 to register will be entered to win a $500 prize package. As usual, all makes and models are welcome to this and all FFMC events.

Anybody else planning on making it?
