Alright quick update:

I ordered a 06-07 gsxr fron end...

All balls conversion tapered bearings

First gen hayabusa rotors

The custom upswept hoop from Harisuluv

A 650 cam from Tom Witt

And Camelmans benelli mojave tank....

Chris' 4-1 exhaust from MotoGPWerks. Well sorta. We talked today and he is finishing up 5 of them. 3 are spoken for and he said to email him to be the 4th..... email sent and now the wait game....

It's crazy as money has been flying out the window...The tank I have beem looking at for a few  months on ebay and he gave me a good deal.

Once I get the parts I plan to do a mock up.

This bike has been my inspiration minus cutting the rear off.

FUNNY! I am poor!

Honestly I was disappointed the way I did my first 550. This one will be built properly in my eyes....

I will still need to order Dyna coils, electronic ignition, UMM PODS or Tintops set up..... A seat but I may attempt to build one from sheet metal....

I found out last night the group that planned to attend Mid-Ohio is unable to now. So the funds I saved for the trip are being used for this build.

PICS TO COME!!!

If anyone has aluminum rims out there for sale or possibly trade I am open to do a deal

Nick, just find yourself 75-77 Goldwing wheels and get the conversion spokes from Buchanan for the rear rim. You end up with a 17" rear, but that just gets you more tire options. The front is a 19" double disk that you should be able to adapt to the fork and rotors you bought.

I may look into the goldwing front wheel. 17" rear doesn't interest me though.

nice project tews. I hope the stem height works out. I got it assembled with conversion bearings and it was too high, But I have a 750 so you might be ok. I ended up having a new stem machined. Def think about machining a bearing cover.
Theres a harley rear wheel spacer out there that works perfectly up front, just had to add a little taper to the edge, i'll try to find a part number.

Thanks elan. I read your thread several times and great work! I have a cnc guy who can make anything. I may attempt to use a stock front cb550 wheel and have him make spacers and redo the hub.

Saw a Triumph brat with that turned-up hoop and a Biltwell solo seat -- looked hot.  Looking forward to seeing the frame with that all welded up.

Cut to trimming the back of the frame... still rough as I am not sure if I will cut the entire back end off.

If I keep as is I will need to make the frame lines better. I will wait for the tank before the lines are complete

Long gives you room for two up and when you tuck down on the tank at speed you can slide back more. Plus, no worries of tire hitting loop even if moved forward. Just don't have a flat brace or pan ruin your day with full compression allowing tire to impact the pan or brace, ugly things will happen if they do.

Got the Hayabusa rotors in the mail. These rotors are huge and very light.  In the pic a comparison to an early K1 750 rotor...

Now the waiting game for the gsxr front end.  The seller on ebay stated should have been here by Friday. But they werent shipped till Thursday evening. Then the tracking number given isn't working. I went to the PO and they stated it doesn't come up valid.... The seller said that's the number given.... sigh. .. I did get front end for dirt cheap... Man I hope I wasn't scammed.

Updates to follow

Hey Tews, so your post in my thread, you may ask away.

Hopefully he didn't screw you on the front end. I'll be doing that conversion eventually. There's a complete rebuilt GSXR1000 front end at the local tuning shop that's been there forever, so I may try and get a deal on it whenever I can stop spending money to get it running.

Dirt is like free here, that front end wasn't dirt cheap.  I'd follow up and ask to email/fax a copy of the receipt.
