I asked him about a year ago.  They ARE available eye to clevis, but the Dynoman site says they "will not work on CB750 SOHC 1969-78."  I feel a little silly asking Buzz a third time, but I sent him an email asking again.

That one's pretty damn spectacular.  The 17s almost make it look like an enduro stance.  Those 4-4 pipes must be LOUD in an awesome way.  ;D

I made my own cognito oil tank, it was super easy and I got the cap from bungking.com

Wow, Such a great project and inspiration to me.
Just finished my xv750 build, and now started with my cb750 build. Already have a gsxr front end with allballsbearing bearings.
I just noticed you're swing arm conversion. Great, really like the stretched look. In Holland I almost bought this swing arm:

It's also for a cb550 but it looks to me it isn't the right one because of the sleeves on the rear. They are closed, yours are open.

Do you know from wich year you have youre cb550 swing arm?

I am playing catch up with my day job after going to Austin for moto gp and the hand built motorcycle show so I haven't been able to do much to the bike lately.

Thanks for posting the pictures from the Handbuilt Show.

That is one nutty looking front end in the 3rd picture.  Some great pictures of Devon's (Cognitomoto) build.  I also saw the picture of the Roland Sands KR street tracker (pics 12-14).  That has a Kenny Roberts/Proton V5 MotoGP engine that produces somewhere around 260 hp!   Walt Seigel Ducati, Confederate, Shiny, Deus, Analog, all kinds of crazy stuff, including THAT dragster (pic  64).  Crazy weird-stuff on 79-81 -- I don't know how that's remotely rideable??!!

79-81 was built by http://rkconcepts.com/. That bike was on display for the duration of the show but the builder showed up Saturday night on one of his other creations and rode it a fair distance home. They are rideable but the definition of rideable is being stretched with his builds.

I was wondering about the size since Shorai recommends a larger (taller not wider) model for the 550 and and even larger one for the 750 - each with more amp hours. I called their customer service number, and the rep said with our vintage bikes we often have more cold start issues requiring more cranking to start.

The customer service rep told me the A5 has slightly more amp hours (like .5), but the specs on their website shows the same 14Ah for both.  Go figure!

Yah the site shows the LFX14AL5-BS12 and the LFX14A2-BS12 as identical specifications other than dimensions/weight.

I got the A2 since this will be installed in the cowl of my bike.

Popped the oil tank off and started to cut and grind frame tabs that I won't be needing anymore. My fabricator has been helping me out a lot on this project but he is getting backed up with other projects. Since he is helping me out for basically nothing, I understand that his time on my project is becoming more limited. With that said, I ended up ordering the oil tank http://cognitomoto.com/collections/cognito-moto-designs/products/bolt-on-cb750-oil-can
I'll worry about getting my own welder and metal fab tools next winter to attempt to try and make my own parts.



I am waiting on the CB500T gas tank to be finished. It has taken a bit more than expected to make it fit this bike. We cut off about a 3/4 of an inch from the back of it and heated/beat that area back into a useable shape. We then needed to cut out two on the underside of the tank to make room for the carbs. We should have the tank closed back up this week.

It's coming along nicely.  Devin's oil tank looks sharp, and I'm sure it will look good on your 750.
