I believe it was last run a year ago, the old guy was good about draining the carbs.
Only 11K mikes.  It's in Florida and I'm going to FL next month but only for four days and not in the same area.  Might pass this along to my nephew who's been bugging me to sell him a bike. But, if he gets in a bad wreck, I would feel slightly responsible, so I am torn?

How old is your nephew? This is a big, heavy bike..... a handful for us "old" riders. If I were you, I'd find a way to get it home, then toil over who gets the bike.  ;)

You could also let me buy it.... I know how to love Suzy's... ;D And I know a guy who would pick it up for me.....

He's 26 and has experience riding sport bikes, this isn't a "cool retro" bike that the young guys normall want? (Haven't sent pics to him yet)
It has a title, somewhere, they will have to locate it.
So, with this limited info, what would you value you at and make an offer of, Dog?

Ahh, to be 26, again.... Oh, I was riding a '78 Honda CB750K back then. I'm not sure what guys that age are looking for these days, my 21 year old likes the Yamaha dual-sport he rides, but he's a bit of a bohemian....  ;)

Do you need advice as to what to offer?

Thanks. I'd have to pass, also. By the time I spend $500.00 to have it shipped, most of the value would be gone for me. He should be able to sell it fairly easily where he's at. In it's current condition, untested, broken signals, etc. if it were mine, I'd ask $1,200.00 and take $900.00 for it.

I've got to stay focused and put my cash in my K8, tires, exhaust, and a few other items. I also need a new seat on my GS1100E.... been eying one from Corbin at the tune of $325.00.

Don't blame ya, I don't see anything special 'bout the bike.  From the research I've done, it's worth about $1000.

Finally! I had a decent day to take the new Cooley out for a ride. What a nice bike, smooth, fast, very comfortable ride. Here's a couple of pics at my stop at the local park, so I could warm up a bit....

After all the anticipation, the wait was worth it, it's a great bike and will see much use this year....  ;D

Although I have had a couple of bikes with 16 inch front wheels that handled very well, they are a pain in the butt on bumpy roads, pot holes and undulations swallowed the 16's and made for painful wrists. The mechanism screws up for the pop up headlight after a while and can be a pain in the butt to.... ;) I actually preferred the GSX750 ESD, 16 inch front wheel as well but comfortable and handled very well.... ;)

Well, the Suzuki Katana is back home after a long stay at the shop to get the frame, wheels, and other parts powdercoated. I still have some cosmetic work to do, but she is up and running and looking pretty good.

She has new tires, new brakes, carbs rebuilt, tune-up, oil change and a few smaller items. I still have alot of small pieces that need to be polished and remove surface rust, and a clutch cover to replace (due to severe pitting, corrosion) but, that can be done a little at a time....

Yeah, we picked her up yesterday morning, and I went for a ride in the afternoon. The brakes are still a little wonky, so I kept it to very respectable speeds until I could get them "dialed-in". I spent a good part of the day, today polishing and swapping out the old pitted clip-ons for a decent used set that I have polished up.

I just noticed that part of the seat bracket is missing.... ooops! I know it was on the bike when I dropped it off last fall. I have to call the shop in the morning.

Dog.... BTW - I stopped over my buddies house last week, he had a book called Japanese Bikes something or other [sorry, cannot recall exact name]. It had a pic of the Wes Cooley in it, he knew exactly want it was. He has a couple Suzis, including a Katana, so knows those bikes well. I can find out the name of the book if you are interested in picking a copy up.

Hey Dog - stopped by my buddies house yesterday, that book with the Suzi Cooley in it is Standard Catalog of Japanese Motorcycles 1959-2007

It has the CB750 on the cover, I may pick it up, worth 20 bucks to add to my library (of only bike books!)

We have a good friend in our riding group, Steven Hattaway, who is also starting a photography business. Steven has taken some photos of my GS1000ST, Cooley bike. I really think they came out nice and think Steven should try to dive in and get motorcycle photography going. Who wouldn't want some "glamour" shots of their machines...lol! All in all, he took about 200 shots of the bike. These are some he has singled out for me.
