I paid about $1900 for the Seeley in '79. I spent a couple hundred bucks bringing it to proper operating condition after that. My only real complaint after living with it for all these years is that the fuel tank is a bit too long; on extended rides I sometimes wish I could shift my butt about 3 inches forward.  ::)

Just did an IBA Bun Burner Gold near the end of this last September.  A friend and I did a lot of planning for it, and had both done several rallies previously.

The BBG is an IBA Xtreme! ride:  1500 or more miles documented in 24 hours or less.

We're waiting on the official word from the IBA, and have the ride report ready to go upon verification.

Our actual ride was 1527 miles in 22 hours.  Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and back.

I've had far more difficult days on much shorter rides, for sure.  It's not miles alone that make a ride long, IME.

All the best,

Shane

Ha ha, well if you ever tire of it Scott, send it to me, I've got arms of Ape-like proportions, so I'd be happy to suffer the slings and arrows of Seeley ownership. A friend of mine mentioned that he's selling his Rickman Kawasaki Z1 and I thought about buying it briefly, but the Rickman was never a patch on the Seeley, IMHO. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Sorry Steve, what's "abc"? (Z1A/B/C?) The owner (another Steve, who bought my GS1000) has over 40 bikes, including some very famous Suzuki powered race bikes worth in excess of $100K each.

He bought the Rickman with the intent of pulling out the 'Zaki engine and installing a GS1100 (16 valve) engine, but he's a busy man and doesn't have time to do much wrenching.

I did think about offering to do the engine swap for him and buy the Z1 engine, but I only speak to him now and then, (he lives one state over) so I haven't mooted that idea as yet. I think the engine has had the Yoshimura wand waved over it too, I think the Rickman was either a race bike at one stage, or it was owned by a racer, I can't remember.
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Sorry for the typo, meant to ask if you could post a pic?
Curious on how it would look?

I found one, don't care for it much, except the motor.

A few hundred miles on my cb450. Could not feel my hands ass or feet afterwards because of the vibrations which led me to purchase the 750 later as I'm prone to random road trips and I needed something that will not vibrate the bones out of my body. The road trip doubled in length as I got really really freaking lost in Orlando. Was also the first time I rode on the interstate.
