Quick question.
what are the advantages of having the 50mm offset? handling or tank clearance?
I've just fitted a cbr1000rr front end on my 750 build, and was going to wait and try the standard rr triples first, as the wheel sizes and fork lengths are both different from the sohc set up!

Getting the offset right retains close to stock geometry which will help maintain its good handling characteristics, most, if not all modern front ends have less offset than these old bikes, giving bigger than stock trail {mainly due to less rake} and slowing down steering response, changing how the bike handles at the front, wheel size also comes into it but that basic answer addressing the offset... ;)

The custom offset addresses the new front (changes the CBR offset), 18s front and rear and a slightly longer rear swingarm - to optimize geometry.

I sold the Bionic Mongrel project today.  Sadly, I had shelved the build two years ago giving way to greater interest in middle-weight CBs (my 550 and 650/550 project).

I traded the project to a friend for an amazing bike.  2014 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 (1400 miles)!!

Thanks, guys.  I am pretty stoked to add this to the stable.  I'm not sure if I keep it long term or flip it in an year - but it's going to be a lot of fun riding it.

Darn I was skimming through the pages following your build. then I find it’s sold  lol. How did you ever mount the speed sensor and magnets for that chronoclassic? I was contemplating that gauge for my CB750 with gsxr front fork.

My magnet sensor on my last 750 was tapped and bolted onto my rotor.

did you screw it into one of the fender mounts and then a magnet epoxied in part of the rotor?
