Use the one just above the google search. The one ghost was referring to. I just tried it and it works a treat.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

To be perfectly honest, I think it's important for motorcycle newbs to get spanked when they are being silly.  I learned the basics of motorcycle wrenching and riding largely on my own, without the benefit of the internet.  I didn't own a computer and had little interest in changing that.  I could have learned a lot of stuff faster and better if I had some kind of voice of experience to whup me back on to the correct path.  When i finally did get a computer, this was one of the first places I frequented regularly.  I spent a couple months reading before I ever posted anything.
Why are people so easily offended these days?  If someone insults me for being dumb, or missing the point, I generally realize I should step back, try and re-think, listen more and talk less, and come back a little smarter.
If it works good, it looks good...

1 problem I've seen on just about every site I belong to is folks start a thread with something like this "Will this work?" or other vague Titles like that. So I would say if you want to ask a question or tell folks about something, BE SPECIFIC . If you've got a question about your 1976 cb750 or your 550 rods, put that in the Title of your thread. This would Help to make the searching a lot easier plus you will be less likely to look at a thread that Might be what your looking for (irritating for folks on Dial-Up, I know just a few of us) !   ...cougar...

["Google custom search" is on the left and works fine for me too.

I was curious to see who the antisocial miscreant was, so typed "get off your ass" in the google custom search.  The answer came up on the second hit.  Not bad performance for a search engine. ;)

- and they are always treated well here.

Not always.  Recently a newbie asked a fairly simple question and one response was "next time, get off your ass and look for it".

WTF? I couldn't believe it.

But Stev-O, everybody was nice to you the next day!    ::)

But gentle ribbing aside, I like that this is a civil discourse. It's unusual for the internet.

We can all get frustrated and irritable.

I've wanted to answer questions just like that a time or two.

Seriously....show up with 2 posts and ask what tires to buy.......

As stated he did provide the answer, just could have been nicer to the noob.

I've been there, frustrated, but I try to remember to give a good answer, and also show where/how the answers can be found in hopes the newbie will find it on their own next time.    There is soooo much info here, and yeah, some of it is hard to sift through.
The 'follow what the book says' answers are worthless...especially when no link or direction to the online manuals is posted  ::)

I read that reply and I know at least one member can do a much better job at pissing people off.  Nonetheless I think people get pretty decent treatment here. I have sent people to the search since the queston has been answered 20 times over the years and  there is a lot more info than I can give without writing a book.

I have been here a while now and I have to say, there are a multitude of people that poke their heads in and ask simple questions instead of looking it up. Their usual concern is what's it worth so they can sell their find. I think it's the same thing here. I know it should not matter but it kind of does.

I hope all of you are having fun....

Has anyone but me noticed the "offended" party is only interested in selling his barn find.

God do I hate "American Picker" types.

Like has been mentioned before, get off your ass and look it up yourselves, many of us who have been member here for years hate to answer the same questions over and over again. Those with high post counts in only a few months really don't have a clue, give some respect to those of us who have been here for years.... Oh yea, calling Lucky out on his bad advise should be considered a favor.......
