Gotta keep an eye on this one. Ubber rare with 9 days left and already 5 bidders at 15K. I don't think I've ever seen that many detailed pics in an ebay ad before.

Interesting how ebay prices for sandcasts are always so diferent to real world auctions- the very nice sandcast at last month's Las Vegas auction sold for $15000.

It must have been made in 1968 ..
The gas cap on sandcast , mine was a diecast cap.. Are some pressed steel like the other bikes..?

Whew, over a 100 grand for a used bike that would be hard to clean and you'd have to fab your own parts for.

Yes, unbelievable.  I guess if you can afford to buy it you can afford to have parts fabbed.  ;D

Parts wearing out would imply that the parts would either be used or exposed to something that isn't a sterile enviroment  :P

That's true.  It probably got lots of miles back in the early testing days but replacing anything I think would be taboo.  If I could by it (and that's a really big if) I don't think I would touch a thing on it.  Not even clean it.

You mean like the highway?

It was a joke, since I don't have a 100 grand+ to blow on something that is a glorified paperweight.  But I am not a collector, just an accumulator.  It would be great to have enough money to have stuff just to have it.  But I don't, so I'll just have to stick with having stuff I can actually do something with. ;)

Leno has an early CBX. At least it's something! This cb750 is crazy though.

In the E-bay description of this bike they say that one of these prototypes was crushed in 1990. Why? By 1990 that was a very collectible machine with all its history. Why would American Honda not want to have it saved for historical reasons? I guess I just don't understand big business.
