I was wondering the same thing. Andy, is she as bad ass as the bikes she rides?

BTW, I love the ZRX. Another thing I love is the cool 400cc bikes in Japan. I wonder why they are not availiable in Spain or some other countries.

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments and support and believe me when Im riding with Yuri I do sometimes think of you as I know you will appreciate the things I am doing and in some way share the experience. To answer some questions yes Yuri had a Vmax last year but had to trade it in (after 10 years and many many miles) for $400!!! She is not super-rich to afford a large motorcycle - yes they are more expensive to run here -but she bought the ZXR second hand - around $8000 which is a good deal here. She much prefers the "real" feel of the Vmax though and commented the ZXR engine is too quiet for her but yeah she enjoys the performance of it. She dosent go out much and saves her money for motorcycles and trips (abroad and at home)  -this girl is the real deal. The CB400 is not restricted in the slightest as I had heard 400cc bikes here were - not true for me! This little bike kept up with the ZXR all day and I was riding fast and never even close to the 15,000rpm redline! Cruisiing at 120km/hr at 7000rpm (yes I checked).

"Where's the "Yuri brushing her teeth in the morning while wearing my T-shirt"?" - lol...guys Im a gentleman first and foremost - my Scottish heritage. I would never kiss and tell (not that anything happened!). I tell her about the forum comments and of course she is flattered.

Thanks also to those who remembered last years Vmax adventure. This coming weekend will be riding pillion again in the back of the ZXR from Tokyo to mountains to beaches so should be another seat-of-your-pants ride.....8 days left here and every day is an adventure!

I think you have had too much Spanish sun :-). Yes the blue is original. And its a kilt!! (not a skirt!! and you are just jealous Im sure since women love it ).

The "no compromise" was what I thought as I was riding, taking in tight turns, throwing the bike this way then that straight away, and then riding through the typhoon at night over the mountains. Simple as that.

Were you on vacation here or do you have business in Japan.  I work for a Japanese company, but they never send me over to Japan.  Some of the managers get to go, but  since I'm at the bottom of the food chain, I only get to traverse North America....in an aeroplane.. ... in economy class   .. but next time they send me to California and I get a little free time, I'm renting a F650 GS and heading up Angles Crest highway and into the desert!  I'm getting excited already!

Either way, it looks lovely over there and I always find it fascinating.

Im here on business -Im a scientist and have a collaboration with a fellow researcher in Nagoya. I was here last year for 2 months and this year only  a month. Too short!

Ive done Angels crest road and yes its really good! Nice turns and watch out for the no-barrier sections. We continued on to Barstow, across the Mojave desert to the Grand Canyon and kept on going all the way to New Orleans (and eventually for me back to Boston :-)) -so Angels crest road was a good start to the ride. Have fun!

Dont worry Raul I know :-) I can feel your pain (while I feel Yuri  ).

BTW in the Honda dealer here there was a picture of a CB750K1 hanging from the wall - I mentioned it and said I had 3 of these - K1 he asked!? Ah no....K4 and K2...not so impressive. The bike looked like a K0 which is called a K1 here I guess......

Neat bikes!  The 400 reminds me of the VF500 Intercepter my buddy used to own- I think it was a 1985 model, was about that size, and those exact colors!

They made 500cc interceptors?!  I'd love to get one, except I've only ever the seen 750/800cc variety, and since they're classified as "sport bikes" I can't afford the insurance on such a thing.  I'll have to look into this!

I tell you, I think that the bike my buddy had was an engineering marvel- very jewel like..  I'd say it was a bike that would carve up a mean twisty!  Do some seaching around- I heard some years had some valve issues, but that may have only been the bigger ones?  I'm not sure.  My friend was a mechanic, bought his wrecked and fixed it up like new.  It ran like a champ when he was done- I was always very envious!
