Hi,
sorry for being a noob - but my 750f1 wont start - it has battery - started fine a few month ago - now there is no reaction from starter switch and i cant push nor kickstart it ..

battery is fully charged and all lights are working fine..

was looking at wirechart and bike befroe and my brain melted - hope there is a friendly soul that can point me in a good direction to start! as i do consider myself skilled enough to solve it and have worked out some other electrical issues before lol .. feels like monday morning!

Did you check the kill switch?

That is not an insult, btw, it happens.  ;D

The next step  safety features, I mean neutral switch and clutch switch, based on the schematics, your bike has both.

Initial checks :-

+1 re safety cut outs (these stop power to coils)

Is there a spark at plug (in neutral, remove plug and with metal contact between plug body and engine kick over with ignition on)
Is there fuel getting to plugs (are they wet)
Is there compression

Have you tested for +12V at the coils, when the kill switch is on?
(black/white wire)

Even if the safety interlocks are buggered you should be able to kick start it.

When checking ignition... do not remove a plug to test with, use an extra that you might have. If plugs are old time to buy a set.
Test with starting fluid, spray in all carbs or in the filter box. Engine will start if you have ignition.

I guess the coils have no power due to the kill switch or neutral circuit including the clutch switch.

but i still wonder how i get the starter to spin when i press the button?? shouldnt that be main issue as that is what i have observed now - and before there were both spark and fuel as it was running fine before? please enlighten me =)

Check the points with a static light. Everyone should learn how to check the timing anyway.

Edit, brain fart this has nothing to do with the engine not cranking over just an engine not starting.

When you push the button, the starter relay gets power and connects the high amp power to the starter.

Hmm, did you check the lead from battery to the relay and from relay to the starter?

Solenoid? With everything on, key, kill switch, in neutral, Try quickly and carefully jumping across the two solenoid terminals with a screw driver. If you get the starter to jump it's time to take the solenoid apart for cleaning.

Before you dig into the solenoid, connect one of the low amp connectors to + and the other one to the - on the battery.  It should click the solenoid, ie close the circuit.  If that happens, the solenoid is ok, and your problem is either diode, neutral swtich or clutch switch.

http://oldmanhonda.com/MC/WiringDiagrams/MCwiring.php#class

As you can see from the diagram, the solenoid is not just + and - but on the - side is the "safety feature"

Just maybe you have the same issue I did when I first got my F1, it would light up, but would not crank.  Turned out a connector had fallen loose during shipping, I found it under the left sidecover, was a green wire iirc.

There is a spare green ground wire there. Just ignore that.
