Long time gone.................
« on: April 30, 2015, 12:17:49 pm »
Hi, time to meet up again after a (long) while.

Still in the land of the living and still doing what I like most, getting my hands dirty with 'the old lady'.

Been messing around with parts for our DOHC sister which prevented me somewhat from appearing here.

But still working on my RC/CR bike and she has come a long way.

Hope you are all good and hope speaking to you all.

Regards, Rob (Voxonda)
Better sorry for failing then for the lack of trying.

It's a magneto, and the cover is likely narrower than stock.

Morning (at least here it is) all,

The alternator cover is 50 mm narrower than stock but because I did not want to cut of the crank there is that mid piece which makes it as wide as the oem cover. But you can only ground it when you are hurting yourself now.
Can use it both with starter or magneto. The charging is done from the front sprocket.
Better sorry for failing then for the lack of trying.

Good to hear from you again Rob.

It just got me thinking back to the Satanic Mechanic days with our dear friend Axl Griessman who we lost just over 6 years ago.
For those of you who are unaware, Axl was a pillar of strength and knowledge within the 750 SOHC community.

Best wishes to you Rob.
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

After a big crash last season have changed the charging by placing the alternator in a 'safe' place.

Earlier style, without the cover(s):

End of this month we have the ultimate test for the new setup, Bert. The old one worked very well until the big "off". If all goes well I will have the mounting bracket CNC-ed. Will keep you updated. And yes it will be on sale.

Cheers, Rob

First setup just moments before the crash, luckily Arnaud was ok, only a sore shoulder. Had made some covers a few days before the run.
