« on: November 07, 2006, 09:43:20 AM »
Well I just went outside to tinker on the my bike.I pull the cover off and something doesn't seem right  I start looking closer and realize that the shiney bits off my bike a fn gone. What the heck who has the balls to go in my back yard untie my bike cover and take my air box covers fender grab bar.I am going to go around my neiborhood Cause I think I know the sob that did it since there is only one other cb local that I know of.Plus is I engraved my parts as I was cleaning them so I hope that he hasn't noticed this yet.

Sorry to hear.
It has to be the other CB owner, who else would just steal bits and pieces off your bike ?

Pull his finger nails off with a pair of pliers, that will get his attention..

Man..  If it was that dude who took your parts- how stupid could he be?  If there's only one other dude with that kinda bike local, and you both know of each other, that's freakin extra dumb for him to swipe your stuff.  I can't wait to hear the dirt when you get back from talking to him with the fuzz.

Ah The joy of justice

Ok So before I get to the the good part here is the deal I don't know this punk ,But I noticed his bike sitting in the driveway about a month ago while riding my bike around the neihborhood after giving it a tune up.Since I am waiting on a new front tire with more tread on it that is the only place it has been.Anyway the reason I noticed his was because it had been SPRAY PAINTED very piss poorly in flat black even painted over the badges and the seat was wrapped  in what I thought was one of those fuzzy wool seat covers for cars.Fast forward to last week I was washing my bike in the front yard and here goes the pos past my house running on what sounds like one cyclinder. He goes past me I thinki to myself I should buy that poor bike and restore it (I hate to see an abused bike)Well I run in the house to grab my phone and when I come back out in what had to be less than 5 minutes he is dimounting his bike in front of my house  I think hey maybe he needs some repair advice or something.Well as soon as he sees me come out the door he jumps back on the bike and takes off blowing a black smoke cloud in his wake.I think ok wierdo and then go back to cleaning then put then back in the shed in the backyard lock the front wheel and handle bars put the cover on and think nothing of it again.Ok now today I go out to the shed to roll out the bike and wwork on the chrome and to fix my grip low and behold the front fender the chrome  air box covers and the grab bar are gone!Well after a cussing fit and the throwing of some tools I call the police and file a report knowing it will do no good. After cooling off with a beer I think back to last week and have one of those eureka moments so after a quick post here and finishing my beer I drive the house in my car and omg what a dumbass he had already put the parts on his bike what a dumbass.I mean a spraypained bike with new chrome shiney parts sticks out like a sore thumb.Problem was I was going to have to find a way to prove they where my parts without getting shot at while trying to pull one of them off to make sure he hadn't filed the engraved numbers off.So I park around the corner walk back knock on the door and get no answer so I walk over and look under the fender and low and behold number is still there and it is mine!So I head home call the pd and they say they will meet me there.Ok here is where it gets good I meet the cops there they verify that the numbers on the fender do indeed  matche my vin.Right about then  A older man pulls up and ask what the problem is the cops tell him that his bike has stolen parts on it this dude turn five shades of red before stating that it is his 17 year old suns bike and that when he asked his son where he got the new parts from that he said ebay! Well He apoligizes to me and starts trying to talk me out of pressing charges saying he is going to tan the boys hide yada yada yada.During all this I am taking my parts back off the bike wiht the cops taking nots pictures and talking to the dude. One cop then ask me if I can tell him where the vin number is on this thing.I being of the mind that hey this is about to get good show the cop where the vin is and he proceeds to enter it into the cool pc in there car and then he walks back over and looks at a kawaskie leaning agains the side of the house with the motor missing out of it.He writes it number down and goes and enters it.So I am standing there at this point waiting for them to say I can take my parts home and the dad starts naggin me again I say there is no way I am dropping the chrages.About then I guess the cops saw something cause one of them hollars at the house we see you get out here And wtf the little jerk was in the house. He comes out trying to deny everything I am leaning against my car watching the action unfold then the other cop walks up to the dad and says don't bother try to get me to drop the charges because both of the bikes where stolen.I am thinking to myself how stuipd is this punk So Around then the cops get my statement one last time (this is like the 4th time) And tell me I can take my stuff and go. So As I load up my parts up I over the the words 3rd offince and they are stuffing him inthe back of the car.The bad thing Is they moved here because the punk did the same kinda crap in Texas not ever 9 months ago ( the dad tried to give me the whole sob story).Morale of the story Don't mess with my stuff or I will hunt you down and there are very very very stupid theives out there.

Thank you thats my story and I don't think I have ever typed that much in my life. :)

You were lucky from my experiences. Glad it worked out.

  (Bit of a Rant comming)

Guy I know on the Island had someone go in to his marine business yard and stole a bunch of come alongs, genys, and assorted other expensive stuff.  He put up reward posters all over the Island. He has had 3 people tell him who stole the stuff and what barn it's in.

He called the local police (RCMP) and explained his findings. Cops said it was "here-say" evidence and they wouldn't even go talk to the guy. But the would arrest him if he was to "break & enter" said barn. WT F$ck

Nother great Island story is the one about the woman who had someone actually jump her fence, with a farrier to re-shoe her horse.......................WITHOUT HER CONCENT. You see, he felt the horse wasn't being looked after to his specs.  Horse was not a very happy camper for a few days,   as the job got botched as they were in such a hurry. The RCMP asked the guy not to do it again.......nicely, to which he indicated he would do what ever he felt was necessary to (Save) the horse from its owner.

I know the woman well and she takes great care with her animals.  Point is no charges LAID !!!!!!!!!!

As much as I read how all these malcontents should have their balls in a vice, nipples cut off, etc, I question how many out there would truly  risk jail time over some stolen stuff?  The cops don't want to bother with the original issue, but when it comes to violence against another, they are all over your ass.

OK there are 2 guys here that would do it ;D

(Bit of a Rant over)

Yhea I knew the cops wouldn't do crap unless I had proof I was lucky that he left the bike in plain sight and didn't file the numbers. The only perk to living in the south is that the good ol boy cops down here know the score when somebody steals your stuff.Of courase they will beat your if you piss then off too I have seen it happen when I used to work security. ;D

AH would you really want to beat up a 17 year old? Besides he was a fat boy so he has more cushion for the pushing when he gets put in general lock up down at county ;)

Get back to us with his eventual punishment.  (Not)

My guess is, no lock-up, no criminal record, no real discouragement from doing it again.
The only way to stick it to them is in civil court, Sue the little #$%* for scratches and new parts ;D

If he ever gets out, give him the El Cheapo (don't you miss him?) treatment at a stoplight: Take one foot and pin his leg to his muffler while giving him a swift whack in the head!

Some theives are stupid.

I worked with a gal who wanted some lessons, but on her own bike, which was a nice 883 Sportster. (OK, I realise that to some of you that is an oxy-moron.) Her bike was lightly customised so I suggested that she be very careful with security, seeing as HD's are hot property for thieving hereabouts. She then told me her story.

The bike had been stolen from outside her house and after filing a police report, and being told by the RCMP that she probably would never see it again, she set about making an insurance claim.

Long story short, after a couple of weeks she got a call from the RCMP to come and identify a motorcycle that they thought may be hers. Lo and behold, there was her pride and joy, looking in not-too-bad shape (a bit dirty and a scratch on the tank).

The thief had ripped it off and then continued riding it. He happened to live in a house which had a suspected grow-op in it, and which was being staked out by the police. When they saw the bike rolling up to the door on a regular basis they ran the plate number, found that the bike was stolen and thus had an excuse to exercise a search warrant. Bingo bango, one busted grow-op and one returned motorcycle.

The gal was overjoyed at getting her bike back and was happy with that, but the police/insurance insisted that she get the tank re-painted as a 'thank you' for being able to nab the scum bag.
