Rob, I am really trying to figure out when this forum became a bunch of no taste fools...your bike should have won botm hands down

Because it had the misfortune of going up against Irish Racer's beautiful build.

I put it down too most voters not knowing or appreciating what the HB1 was or is.... 8)

Well its not to everyones taste.. Myself included.
However the commitment to build it and the quality of the work done, is what stands out to me on this one.  That is why I asked if we can vote on a bike that was not BOTM winner.

I don't know; I loved both and would be immensely proud to own either. Some bikes pull at heart strings or catch your eye more than others. It doesn't diminish one, it's just what you're in the mood for on any given day. Both are exceptionally executed bikes, and either worthy of BOTM or BOTY.

Best news is, the HB is eligible in 3 short months for a new nomination and the BOTY for 2017. And it will have a sparkly new red seat  ;)

I was thinking it had more to do with the cafe scene, drowning in ignorance.....   {runs away and hides}.... :P

PS, not dissing the Irish CR... ;)

Here is the tank and front fender. Seat is also carbon fiber. I stepped it up and went carbon over fiberglass.

Better looking painted. I love carbon fibre as much as anyone else but with the 70's styling the paint finishes it off nicely.

Congratulations Art, truly an incredible build and faithful recreation.  You should be incredibly proud of all the work you've done, as I'm sure you are.  Great pictures, and as mentioned great paint.  Thank you for taking us along for the ride.

I'm late to this party, but I enjoyed every post when I finally found this thread. :)

Wonderful work, it's great to see this bike getting the attention and respect it deserves.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

For those of you going to the http://www.motorcycleshows.com
International Motorcycle Show at the Javits in New York City next weekend
The bike is entered in ultimate bike builder contest.
I don't think all stand a chance, but it will be fun.

Rob

First off, incredible build. Great example of how beauty can be achieved by addressing function before form. I have to ask why the tachometer has a single socket head screw among all those button heads? I looked back in the thread and saw it was previously all button heads. It is driving the manufacturing engineer in me crazy.
