Has anyone here bought and used the electronic ign that David Silver Spares sells?  If so do you like it?  For a cb550.

I have not, but for $125 you can get a Pamco brand that many people have used. http://www.cb750igntion.com. PamcoPete is a member on this forum.

Is there a difference in quality and opinion between Pamco and Dyna S or is it six of one and a half a dozen of another?

I would say Pamco is more reliable, Dyna S had some problems while ago.

Hondaman sells ignition too:

I had the DYNA-S and it was perfect.  Never had an ounce of trouble, just sayin' (as they say).  Even ran the 3 ohm coils for a hotter spark and still no problems.

Don't forget C5 Ignitions, too!

I have run Dyna S and Dyna 2000 with 5 ohm and 3ohm coils.  On a 550, the 3 ohm coils can tax your battery.  Some people have had issues with Dyna 2000 reliability (for a certain production time).

On my newest build (650 engine in a 550), I decided to pop for the C5.  It will allow me to ditch the CDI boxes (known weak link on the 650) and the technology with the C5 is impressive.  We'll see how it works out!
