That green candy is so bright.  I think the best words to describe it are brilliant or radioactive!  These body pieces really pop against the frame and motor.

They do, and it will be even better out in the sun. I painted a Jeep once for a niece of mine. She went to the paint store with me to pick out the paint. The Jeep was black. She choose a three stage paint that used a black base, so it was an easy transition. The mid coat was crazy. It was all different colors, depending on the angle and the sun. I knew when she went through an intersection on a sunny day, she'd cause problems. I haven't seen another on the street with that paint since. However, it didn't take her long before she totaled it  :(  Like so many paints, camera and screen just don't do it justice. Let your imagination go when looking at this modest picture. My candy green isn't like this . .but I like it a lot.

Whoah. That's a LOT to take in.  Taste the rainbow!  Maybe the other driver's were so distracted by the paint that they crashed into it.

Nope, it was her fault and was at night. The paint had nothing to do with it.

Looks great Pete.

Are you familiar with Penetrol? It's a non-automotive paint additive thing. It would probably work great on the airbox to make it look new again and darken it. I've used it on a number of plastic pieces to restore their appearance. Wipe it on/in and let it sit and absorb then wipe it off.

Good match on the candy.  It's not an easy thing to get it right when you paint the parts in separate sessions.

I have heard of that material, but have never owned any. I have other materials I use for things like that. Understand black, in photos like this seem to always look worse than in person. I also have not cleaned or detailed a thing since I purchased the bike. I started tearing  down almost immediately.

As for the candy match, well when I mixed up my candy concoction, I mixed enough to do all my parts. So then it's all up to the amount of coats to keep it looking right. Plus . . none of the pieces actually touch each other. I'm sure that helps  :)

Finally mounted the taillight and wired it. I also added an electronic strobe and LED taillight bulb. Pretty cool.

Had three things left to do . . now it's two. I got the cap resealed and installed. I was able to install the new seal without taking the cap apart. Took about 10-15 minutes to get it in, but it's done. Th most difficult part was installing the latch. I went with a keyless latch and it was a little bugger  :)  But it's done. The cap looks better in person than the pic. Chrome just doesn't photograph well, or it just shows everything  :) I decided not to use the front fender I had for it, so I'm waiting on the fender I purchased to show up. The last item to finish is the rear turn signals which should be done tomorrow.

Another trick that works well on black plastic is peanut oil.  Apply generous coat and let it warm up in tne sun and later wipe it down.  It does a fabulous job bringing the deep black back to black plastic pieces. Once wiped off it does not collect dirt/dust or transfer to other things.  Works quite well and is long lasting.
