Ted got his butt handed to him
« on: April 15, 2017, 12:06:22 PM »
Poor kitty, Ted the Cat got into a fist-fight this morning and took it in the shorts.

I didn't even realize it happened, he was limping and acting injured so I assumed he hurt himself while on dawn patrol.

Took him to the vet and it turns out he was just sore from the fight - got a chunk taken from his ear as a battle scar and probably got clawed in the butt which is why he was sore.

Poor kitty - now he's haunting one of the back bedrooms, high on painkillers and the stuff they put into feline vaccinations.

I think you'd limp too if you took a claw to the butt!  :o

Ha ha. Reminds me of my old tabby Baldrick. He was the neighbourhood bruiser, a big old lump with chunks out of his ears, always coming home with a bloody nose. He was something else, he'd sit on my mate's laps for ages but if they tried to get him off he'd bite them. He'd never do that to me though. We were pretty much inseparable.

Back in the early nineties me and a couple of friends took a trip to the US and we were gone for a month. I left Baldrick at home and another mate moved in to look after him while we were gone. When I got picked up at the airport when we got back I could tell straight away something was wrong.

My friend told me that the day I left, Baldrick had fukced off and hadn't been seen since. My mates had searched all over the place, and put notices up in the local shops and pubs asking anyone who saw him to let them know, but they'd heard nothing. That was one long car journey home from the airport, I was jet lagged and never been so gutted in all my life. We got home and I opened the front door, and there was Baldrick looking straight at me. I could tell from my mate's faces that they hadn't been winding me up, it was as if he knew I was coming home.

I lost him a couple of years later when he developed a massive tumour on his liver, and even though that was twenty-odd years ago I still think about him. Give Ted my best wishes and here's to a speedy recovery. If he's anything like Baldrick, he'll get his own back!

Ted will recover.  I'm trying to dislodge him from the perch he's taken next to the window.  I think he's paranoid that the other cat's going to come back and kick his butt again.

I saw my neighbors cat hit by a car early this winter and another that was chasing/fighting him got hit also. It used to walk its line everyday which was pretty big, marking turf etc. It was sad to tell the gal and walk her down to the specific spot in the ditch where I placed it and all the crying etc.. Out here where I live if the cars don't get them the coyotes or owls probably will. Best kept safe inside.

We had 4 cats (2 male, 2 female) until Sammy died a couple of months ago. Sam was too gentle to be a cat, and he copped a hiding from all of the other male cats. Jerry, the dominant male used to beat him senseless, and when Jerry died of old age, I actually witnessed poor Sammy frolicking on the footpath, doing the happy dance for the first time in years!

Within days I'd brought home Chopper, who grew into a big tough bugger, who took over from Jerry, and would beat Sam like a red-headed step child. Chopper got bitten by a snake and died when he was only three, so we replaced him with Felix, who once again, used to beat the sh1t outta Sammy. Poor old Sam died of cancer, and I hope that he's finally found peace, and that Jerry and Chopper aren't belting the tar out of him in the after life! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

We have 4 cats, I only wanted one.
The newest cat chases everything away from the house, other cats, raccoons, rabbits, dogs etc etc.
It is funny to see him get all riled up, he'll growl really loud and take off like a shot.
Have to admit, he did back off once, when a black bear turned around after being chased for 5 meters.

I rescued two kittens from an abandoned building next to my Aunt's place. I kept one and my parents the other. Two meanest animals I have ever met. Mine was manageable within limits, my old man had to pick his up with welders gloves. Both of them lived to be 17 and had to be put down with kidney failure. I missed the little #$%* for some reason.

Come on guys - Ted's not dying here.

He just took it in the shorts.  He's currently sacked out by my office window - sleeping off the rest of the drugs they gave him.
