I have almost identical forged three piece fork braces. All I need to know are the leg diameters and the center line distance.
$35 shipped.  ;D ;D. Sorry  I can't include include photos but photobucket seems to be taking the morning off. The photo on the web site is the same as they look.

Hi Andy,

A brace for the K2 does exist, or has existed. BGFootball had one from Telefix that was special ordered from telefix Europe. I tried to get one using the same source and they told me no more. His bike does not have a front fender. I can't tell but from the pictures I don't think it will allow the stock fender.

The problem with CB750-K2 is that the top of the fork leg is lower than the top of the tire. It is the only motorcycle in the entire world like this. The telefix brace has a really high arching bridge to clear the tire, can be seen on BGFootballs Cafe Racer bike if you search for his pictures.

So NO brace marked as K3 or later will work as they are straight across bridges type braces. After K3, the fork leg was higher than the tire, and a traditional bridge type brace could then be used.

There have been some other braces made as a loop to the front and rear, but they interfere with fenders and dual discs.  Since the application is just for CB750 thru K2 its not a high priority item.

It is not a simple issue. For example, none of those listed in TurboGuzzi's link will work.

I have a "tweak bar" style fork brace which the origianal poster doesn't want. I will also be having a machine shop make me a telefix high arch style, but with an 18" tire, so not as high as for the 19"tire. It will also have a different fender mount built in.

PS: I may be off base on this, wouldn't be the first time. So sorry if so.

But I tried to get one and failed. If someone does know for sure, source and part number, I'd sure like to know too.

High forks started in 77/78 on the 750, except 76 auto had them first.

MC if you or anyone else wants a telefix type made , I could make some, I will try to keep the cost reasonable, and will do it if I can sell a few units..

@754: am interested in what you would make of it.
@Andy: Telefix has them for the F1/K7. They would fit though. As my memory serves me right.

Rob: i could be wrong about this, but i don't think so. The F1/K7 have the taller lower legs that clear the tire, allowing for a straight across bridge type fok brace. Such a brace will not work on the earlier models (K2) where the top of the fork leg is substantially below the top of the tire.

Thanks Ron,

This is where my memory failed. Knew there was something with the lenght of the sliders. This must be it.
Sorry Andy! ;)

Thanks for the offer. I'm wanting to integrate the brace with a mount for a different fender. I think the machinist will need to have everything in house to get the spacing right. So I'll be hauling my rolling chassis to the machinist.

The cost of a one-off will likely be higher, than if several were made, or continued to be made.

I realize that a crucial part of the design is to clear the stock fender, if this is done right, it can also be used to mount a light fender, attached to the cross brace.

I have made a KZ version before..

I dont really want to go thru all the work, only to have someone else make the same piece and water down sales.., or worse, copy my design..

I forgot one other twist. The early fork leg tops were smaller diameter than the later ones, thus splitting the already small market into two pieces. The enlargement was to accept a larger fork seal. That split came between K1/K2? Maybe K3/K4.

That was the reason I couldn't use the Telefix that BGFootball had found. It had the high arch to clear the tire, but also had the large clamps for the larger leg tops. Mine has the smaller tops.

I also think Telefix may have run out of them.

So many performance guys are using the GL front ends, pretty beefy brace available for them.

And I could be wrong here as well, this stuff gets foggy with the passage of time.

a couple things..
If I make a brace, I can make it for gaiters, or push in seal covers (like 77/78 F). I think the gaiters will look more scrunched.

The other thing, is, sounds like there is a difference from K1 to K4, which means 2 sizes, maybe..

Note the fork brace style on this K1 which was recently on ebay.UK

Aside from the questionable appearance, I wonder how well would it perform?

Wow, nice clean bike, I like that colour.. How much USD is 3150 pounds Sterling? I would leave it as is and ride it

That forkbrace is probably Circle Industies or similar, used a lot on dirt bikes..

Hey guys I've been looking all over for a fork brace for my CB750K2 with the older style fork lowers. I've seen Tarozzi makes one that may fit (detentions look right) but I want to see if anyone has tried already since that could be a pricey experiment on a blind buy. Anyway telefix no longer makes or sells for this model either.

This guy was making them for a while, don't know about now.

http://tkat.com/forkbrace.html

About 1min 10sec into this video you can see the one I had made at a machine shop. Used a fork brace I bot off ebay to cannibalize the parts that clamp around the leg. Then the bridge also came from a sacrificed fork brace. These were cheap to come by. The shop cut the clamps in half, welded the stand ups, etc.

tkats is more thought out, having done several of them.

Tarozzi will work but you may have some fitment issues with your front fender, if you are using the older lowers.

Tkat's brace is extremely well made -- maybe over-engineered -- and maybe a little too bulky for some tastes.
