On my 550 cafe I decided on 600F3 switches, just to be different. (because I had them too) Slightly smaller than original, like scondons they use blade type connectors and the choke lever is integrated in the left switch. Downside.... it took a while to fiqure out the wiring, and had to make a choke cable to fit.

I thought along these lines at first but decided I wanted to be able to operate most of the switches while keeping both hands on the grips. Signals, lights, and horn should all be reached by the thumb, IMHO. The rest can be scattered wherever but I thought that the kill switch should remain in a familiar place in case someone either than myself needs to kill the engine. That left only the starter button.

I'll be looking for different switches for other things(hidden power switch,etc..). If I come across any good sites for switches I'll post'em here. Any good electronics store in your area would be worth a walkthrough to get the creative juices flowing. I'm gonna hit Home Depot on the way home to see what they offer.

Found this while looking the other night. No "grouped" switches or "bar mount" stuff, but certainly a lot of switches.

You can get around the starter button all together by getting a universal car-type ignition switch.  I bought one for $6.00 at the local Auto Zone.  You just crank the switch to start it.

I mounted it to a piece of sheet metal near the right side cover.  The white star shaped thing is my key ring.  It cleans up the dash quite a bit, but you need a third hand if you want to hold the clutch, hit the starter and give it gas at the same time.  I just start it in neutral.

Hey Scandon,

Did you ever get your switch wired and working?   I bought the same one and I am STRUGLING trying to get everything working.   I am lousy with wires so it is probably just me.   I know that getting the electrics to work again is gonna be the hardest thing for me.   So far I have two idiot lights on and the starter relay clicks (low battery probably?).   I have got the headlight to flash like a turn signal but no luck getting the anything from either turn signal.    I am gonna go qwazy I can feel it.....    :o :o :o

Thx,
Doug
