Price of old used trucks in good shape is absolutely through the roof...some selling for more than their new price!

I'm not selling mine, I bought it 26 years ago for $16k. It was all stock and non turbo. I put a Banks turbo kit and better radiator on along with the a stage 1 towing transmission with a double clutch torque converter to back up the suspension mods. I spent almost $10k on the mods. It now has 142k miles and is a working beast. It would likely cost at least $80k to $90k to replace it with a modern truck that probably won't outlive this one.

old heavy duty basic tech stuff like that lasts forever as we all know,i drive modern heavy duty trucks for a living and they go into limp mode and what not for no #$%*ing reason other than a sensor or some other annoying #$%*,i used to drive old macks and worst thing might be two injector lines rubbed together and through but easily fixed with bronze over repair till new line made or purchased?plus I miss that old rolling coal!!

I used to drive big trucks too. I've driven most of the major brands like Kenworth, Peterbuilt, White, Freightliner, Mack, International, Ford, GMC and Volvo. My favourite truck was a 79 Freightliner conventional with a Detroit turbo supercharged 8V92 and a Road Ranger 13sp.

I've sprayed semi-gloss engine paint, both Duplicolor and VHT also VHT caliper paint.
I like using the semi-gloss because I oven-cure it for an hour at 200 degrees Fahrenheit which gives the semi-gloss a nice hard near-gloss similar to OEM black engine paint after I remove it from the oven.

I like how your polishing of the OEM black has turned-out.

Grand Cherokee would not start, after replacing the battery I tracked it down to Neutral safety switch; with key in run position I am able to jump start it.

Funny thing - it happens with hot engine only, cold engine starts every time.

Might have sludge on switch that gets sticky when hot and it shrinks when cold allowing the switch to function.

It took me a while to reproduce it.

I plan to get it on ramps today and take a look.  Technically I could just bypass it.

If I remember correctly, that’s what I did on the old Cherokee Sport.

i had to toot my car horn today,it has twin old school metal housing two tone horns from the factory that sound deep n loud and nothing like modern high pitched squealing #$%*es,one went out during that toot,i opened it up and found a broken solder joint, easy fix plus cleaned the contacts up,tuned it up and just as good as when it was made in 1973!cant beat these old "snail" horns unless you run truck air horns?

I sprayed the bejeesus out of it with contact cleaner and - knock on the wood - seems to be working now.

Great job, I love repairs like that.  On an old, well built item.

further to car horns,my wifes new to her 2015 mazda 3 only has one low tone horn from the factory and its like a warm flat low alcohol beer!!,on forums even the higher end 3s only had one anemic horn and its a thing on forums how to add or replace the horns, they all say you HAVE to remove the entire bumper and grille assembly and youtube shows how etc,i had a very similar size Fiaam brand horn sitting around and managed to with some fangling and reaching through the lower chin grille get it up into position quite easily,i trimmed bout 3mm off the widest part of the trumpet mouth and cut the mounting stud as short as i could and still get 4 or 5 threads holding, then with ninja stealth and English Winston Churchill never give up attitude and a telescopic magnet managed to Houdini the second horn into place!#$%*!why dont they just put twin horns on them?i thought its kinda normal on cars?

I changed the cabin air filter in my 2022 GMC pick up.  About 15 bucks for the filter and my labor was free and it took a total of ten minutes.   The last time I had it the dealer they wanted $179 for the procedure.  I really empathize with the mechanically challenged folks who go to these places.

I bought a Bosch O2 sensor for $25 off of ebay, it's likely a clone but for the price I wanted to see it. The ad shows the Bosch box. Holley wants $145 for them, my holley efi, Racepak data recorder and Autometer wide band A/F meter all use a similar sensor, this one is supposedly a better sensor. We shall see.

Mostly I want to learn what sensor comes with which plug and get familiar with the non-Holley alternatives. If the plug and the thread work I'll likely spend more for a genuine store-bought Bosch.
