My wife, NOT ME filled my diesel Landcruiser with 150 liters of unleaded petrol (gas).  >:(

Let me guess Bear, somehow that was your fault. Right?

I bolted the 400 Pontiac to the turbo 400 trans, dropped them into the Art Morrison subframe and rolled the assembly through a wheel well and into the 69 firebird. I used a 1/2" body drop kit and have some large 15" tires on it. They are too far out due to clearance on the C6 corvette spindles but also look wonky, showing 4" of tire. With 18" rims it would still show 2.5" of tire. I think it was as low with the stock subframe. It has struts instead of coil overs so no settling is expected. Dagnabbit.  My headers won't work and the brake booster hits since the engine is now centered.

Don I saw a solution for the headers the other day.

I leased a new Ford Territory back in 2015, which I still have, the last of the Aussie built Fords. I hate driving it around town because its got a V6 diesel with too much turbo lag, but it is a brilliant long hauler, so I dragged it out of my driveway where its been sitting since September last year and drove it to visit my Ma, a 400 mile round trip.

Still drives like a new car, and will blow old V8 "Muscle Cars" away at the lights, and leave them in a cloud of black smoke, great fun. So comfy inside I got out of the car after the 200 mile return drive, jumped on my Harley Sportster and did another 140 miles. Great weekend! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

That header is crazy, everybody knows you don't use galvanized fittings on exhaust.
The right side is easy, The left not as easy but doable. The problem with these is the heavy stainless paint coating I put on them 20-odd years ago, and one has several years use on the car.
If I'm cutting and welding I'm doing it on new pipes. These are Cragar or Appliance brand neither of which is still available. Another brand may be better or worse.

I welded up the body/frame jig and test fitted the rear frame/floor assembly. The floor won't lay down on the jig, It would be nice to get a good blueprint from the internet. A few tack cuts and a 1 1/2" move it will be fine. I didn't fully weld it, since the leftover material will be re-used on a bike trailer.

I tried to buy one "back in the day" with a turbo hanging off it, but couldn't get the finance as an 18 year old with no guarantor. Probably a good thing, in hindsight, they were a little rocket, and with the turbo, it would wind the speedo needle off the clock. ;D

I used to have a Hot Rod magazine from the early '70s with an article about a 240Z with a 350 Chevy. They billed it the "steel stingray". I recall there was no real structure to support the rear of the trans, so they fabbed a mount that fastened to the underside of the sheet-metal drive-shaft tunnel using large fender washers to spread the load over a large area.

Wow, that thing is magnificent Steve, and not awfully expensive either, for what it is. Needless to say, my wife would kill me if I bought it though, so I'll have to be happy with my twin turbo Subaru Liberty GT (Legacy GT in the US) it's quick enough for an old fart like me, and pisses off muscle car owners when I blow them away. ;D

I had a buddy back in the 80's with an early 70's Datsun truck. Had an old Chevy 283 and a 4 speed. That was a fun little truck. Kind of a sleeper too.
