Rickman Project - COMPLETE!
« on: May 12, 2018, 08:31:46 PM »
This is the first restoration project for Quick Cycles (a company I recently started). It's fairly complete. Not cheap but it'll be the show piece of my business.

So grab a seat, some snacks, and hold on to your butts!

43mm I believe. At least that's what I was told. I need to measure them.

Probably the 41mm, very hard to find. I wanted  one since I saw one back in the 70,s. I have a set of trees.
They are actually 1 5/8.

Update time: So between getting engaged and trying to find a new house to rent, I've got a little progress done to the bike. I picked up a set of SS braided oil lines and did some wire sorting. The bike has a repop harness of unknown model year. It's nice working with a new harness but it has some drawbacks.

Oh yeah, I also picked up an original Rickman fairing for the bike. Its not the long Honda style. I believe its the road race fairing. It ends at the bottom of the tank. I'll get a pic up soon. I think it'll look nice on the bike. It just needs a little bit of work around the forks to fit nicely.

I've been following this from the start. Good progress is all that is needed.
Where in San Diego? I'll be back in Oceanside in October for the winter(riding out!), but might be flying out in a couple weeks to do an install with a friend in north county.

I'm in La Mesa near sdsu. Hopefully I won't be moving to further from this area. It's very convenient.

For sure hit me up if you in the area. You meet the nicest people on a Honda...

Hey Guys!!

Sorry for such a long wait. So some updates....

I got the everything replated and polished. Nice clean nickel!

I'm in process of rebuilding the engine. I've been cleaning, painting, and polishing covers. I took all the internals from the 75f engine and put them in the 73k case. The F engine was super fresh with almost no wear. The bearings were prestine. The head and cylinders are being blasted by a local company. I'm going to lap the valves and install new seals. The valves and valve seats have minimal wear. The exhaust guides were replaced with bronze.

To do list:
Finish engine assembly
Install engine in frame
Install swingarm
Remove tires and disassemble wheels
Take wheels to Buchanan's for polish and SS spokes.
Restore/clean brake parts
Install harness
Paint seat cowl and fairing to match tank.
Clean & polish fork lowers
Put everything together

So yeah, huge list still...

Someone rebuilt this 75F head before I got it. The guides were already installed. It was a nice little suprise when I took it apart.

It's coming together slowly. I just finished the forks and set the body work on the bike. Still have quite a few things left to finish the bike.

I'm trying to decide on a Mac 4-2 i already have or a Delkevic 4-1 race looking unit. I might try on the MAC and see how it looks. The bike is looking more like a restomod and some personalized features. These were sold as kits so there really is no one standard. This fairing is a bit different but is a rickman piece.
