Andy, do you recall the advertised spring rate for the Hagons? IIRC, the ones I got are 18kg, but it's hard to compare to the S&W/Progressive spring ratings, which have both an upper value and a lower value due to the progressive spring rate as well as a standard of pounds per inch instead of kg per centimeter(?).

Sorry I dont recall and i checked my emails but unable to find the original order. What I do know is that David Quinn (no longer selling Hagons) swapped the spring for me as it was too firm. I am a 200lbs, 6`4 rider and the spring I have on now is still firm but suits the 750K4 very well. K4 is used for touring including sustained highway riding sometimes. No issues in twisties and better than the Progressives I had on previously.

So, you guys don’t mention Ikons… any reason for that?
OTHER THAN, it being an Ohlins thread?

I purchased Hagon shocks a few times and noticed their 'Quad Rate' springs are just too stiff, which doesn't allow the shock to work through it's complete stroke.I installed a set of regular dual/rate springs and the shocks perform as they should.I hope we get a USA supplier for Hagon shocks as Dave Quiin has been out of business for 5 years now.

Wow, the Ikons have jumped in price. I paid $325 about 10 years ago. Its starting the make the YSS, Wilbers and Ohlins look reasonable.

I didn't mean to say "over". I paid $991.46 after the euro-usd conversion. Like I said, much more than I was comfortable with, but I wanted a high quality shock.

thread revival..

Regarding the Fox RC1 podium shocks, did anyone come up with a spring option that works?  8" Racetech: SRSP4820013R.  That's 1.3kg/mm. The stock 1.8kg/mm rate is way too stiff even after a revalve.

Depends on the clevis length (side to side) and what size those threads are.

Also something to think about is the length. I didn't read mention of their length anywhere in the listing.

So, to conclude this thread regarding the Fox Podium RC1 shock option I am finally satisfied. Devin at cognito moto continued his awesome support even a couple years after I bought them and was able to put me in touch with the right person at Fox who was also committed to helping me out. Scott at Fox found the following springs which make all the difference:

8” 80lb/in (1.43kg/mm)

Fox PN: 033-24-080-6

Cognito Moto and Fox..Two great companies we are lucky to have available to us!!

I like Fox shocks.
I had an 86' VFR with a Fox Twin Clicker monoshock;I loved the 8 position rebound damping adjuster knob which I was able to adjust while sitting/riding on the bike.

That's awesome to hear! I've got nothing but good things to say about CognitoMoto. Those shocks look beautiful on that bike, well done!
