I was thinking of stripping the coating and getting them anodized black, but cost is an issue for now. there's always "later"

another idea I had was to anodize a set of shouldered aluminum rims the same gold color and use black powder coated spokes and nipples with a black hub.

old harleys and goldwings had shouldered aluminum rims

I called in sick today to nurse the cold and not give it to everyone else at work. I didn't display any symptoms at work last night, they all started later. I hope I didn't get anyone there sick. There is a tech night out tonight that of course I will miss. I'm hoping we can still go to paulages tomorrow, but we sure wouldn't want to make any of them sick either. Dammit.  :(

Well I paid the price for my procrastination today! I have a bad wheel bearing on my Escort that has been making noise forever (like over a year!) but since I never drive it I figured "F-It!" it can wait....well the other day I had to take it to go visit some fam and it was crazy loud! Figured it was gonna break right off it was so loud. Well I went and grabbed the bearing and hub assembly (all 1 piece because Ford designs their cars to be disposable) and in less than an hour it was done! Bad part was it was BELOW FREEZING inside the garage! When I started it was minus 7 celcius and with my heater going by the time I was done it was a balmy minus 4!!! Had I known it was gonna be so easy I would have done it back in the summer or fall....damn it! I have been drinking ice cold beer since but it doesn't seem to be warming me up!!!
