HA HA HA HA. I've been gotten good. I stand correctimicated. By the way, was I at least right about the Ninja 900?
Yes, i believe it was a GPZ900.
What about other modes of transportation?
The helicopter chase scene in Blue Thunder ("Follow my leader") was fun, but not deserving of best. I think it was a James Bond move in which the driver escaped the chasing helicopter by ducking into a tunnel during a mountain chase. That was cool.
Does anyone remember Failsafe? I think it had the most suspensful aircraft chase. For those (most of you, possibly) who haven't seen it, it was a 60's movie about what happens when a squadron of SAC B52's is accidentally greenlighted to bomb Russia. A squadron of US interceptors is sent to shoot the bombers down, and it's kind of like Psycho -- you don't see the chase as much as feel it.
Clint Eastwood was chased in his flight out of Russia in Firefox, but the effects were on the weak side.
There's gotta be some good sea chase scenes, but I can't think of any. In one of his movies, Bogart was chased in the Florida Keys. It may have been To Have and Have Not.
No, I don't think Blue Thunder was anywhere near the best, but it was still cool. Never saw Failsafe, but I'm gonna have to check it out. Sea chases? I remember there was a decent one in the last Indiana Jones movie (Last Crusade?) with a couple of old wooden boats chasing each other in a harbor. How about Hunt for Red October? Perhaps the best real-life sea chase was the British Navy chasing the Bismarck in WWII.
Sink the Bismarck was very good. The actual story is, of course, much more impressive. Dunno if anyone has caught it, but the History Channel has done an episode about the Bismarck in its "Dogfights" series. It's superb.
