i tracked down the correct yammy de carbon rear shock,got it apart,replacing the lower spherical bearing,painting the spring and the body is at a shop for service and replace the missing bump stop,ill sell the ohlins later,ive also got the forks and trees from the same guy with master and caliper,ya cant find #$%* for these things without buying a whole bike it seems?

Dave,it's good you found a decent stash of OEM Yam parts.What is the one you have in your TT600 now ?

its the much later belgarda ohlins rear shock,the preload nuts foul on the air intake tubes!

ok so i got that yammy shock serviced new seals and gassed,its 30mm longer than the incorrect one,it has a 1mm thinner spring so its softer which i wanted,ill ride it tommorrow but so far the initial sag off the stand is about 200mm,old one was #$%* all i always felt is was too hard!had to make up a guard that covers the clicker,itll do for now but after easter ill check on a new genuine one if still available?had the chain pinched on lower roller lifting the wheel off the ground?i just moved the roller it clears fine now.

well we went on a full power easter egg hunt,mustve crushed a few didnt find any!that proper rear shock works better for me being a softer spring,it has raised the seat height which for my old 5 foot four inch max aint welcome,i wound the spring down and lowered it 15mm which ill see next ride how it is,ive got two weeks off now post easter to drink beer and sleep in and tinker to my hearts content!my dogs happy he follows me all over the place,wife will put up with me so far,ive got a few household chores on the white board.

that new rear shock is great!really just bashes over stuff so much better,im gonna make shorter pre load spacers for the front forks next,ive been told a coupla times by mates ill get a ticket for the way the rear plate is almost flat,thats the way they were in the day,might be why these were the last of the compliant ones and stateside they never were?so i decided after todays ride to just make up some spacer posts and flip the angle up and still keep it under the tail lights illumination,youd have to cut the guard to get it vertical,more compliance regs found on the later models,thats why i like these old models,they were so just compliant in the day.

im never a hooligan!i made up some 10mm shorter preload spacers for the forks,should soften up any initial hard hit?dropped the sag by 5mm,still yet to ride it yet.,and a new sticker set both sides,tt600 on black circle.

Those spacers may cause it to become more plush/soft and that's a smooth ride Dave. 
Do you use a speedometer on the bike ?

Pulled your baby brother out of storage recently Dave. I'm going to revive it since its been sitting too long after I rode it last and turn it over to my son so he can have some fun in the dirt or at least feel what its like to get thrown down by a motorcycle hard ! My ribs and some other body parts took some hard hits back in the day on my old 1981 Yammie YZ250 which I still have hidden away that I bought it back in 1985.. MERCY how time flies by !!

Dave,you ever considered mounting an auxiliary fuel tank on your bike ?

well a mate gave me a partially worn dunlop 606 street legal knobby to try,he changes his early,i liked it so once id run it out i bought one new,Bear thinks its alright!probably have to watch the front end now with new bite?

yeah rode it last weekend,good bite,its dry here and the clay trail we hit thats normally like greased soap and deep gullies was dry and had been graded?wondered why i had one damp foot though,hole in right sole i guess from kicker?12 months on these el cheapo boots aint bad?i siliconed it back and keep em as spares,i lashed out and bought new oneal sierras twice the price but three times the quality and much much better sole!oddly enough looking online research etc a few good brands even Forma have "not recommended for kick start bikes or aggressive foot pegs"#$%*en hell if i wanted ballet shoes id have gone to a ballerina store!

You need to find a nice old pair of Rossi bike boots Dave, I've still got mine from when I was 16, they're Scrambles boots (no such thing as Motocross when I was 16) so have smooth soles, but you can't kill them.
