   I love that look, this is an inspiration thread.  The bike I'm building in my mind is very much like that except Accord tiger eye pearl brown with K2 stripes. My K0 will donate it's Lester mags when it goes back to original and I'll use all of the performance parts I've collected and a very similar exhaust.

Thanks guys.  I took It out for a run to Mayer Brothers cider mill for some cider donuts the other day.  I had to get a picture as I was walking back to the bike.  The weather is starting to change in Western NY, so there won't be many rides left this year.

Winter 2022 Update:

I have been in parts buying mode.  I found a K1 swingarm and a nice K1 chain guard.  The chain guard had a piece missing towards the front, so I made a fiberglass patch and glued it in with ABS glue.  I then wet sanded it with 3000 grit and polished it with Novus plastic polish.  It came out nice.  I also grabbed a center stand and had that powder coated along with the swingarm.  I used Kibblewhite top hat bushings in the swingarm.  I did have to hone them after install but I did not have any problems with the lip being too thick.  The swingarm fit into place nicely and didn't bind at all.  I've got new zerks coming in a few days to replace the old ones in the pivot bolt.





The big purchase was a set of no number pipes from Yamiya.  It was 24 degrees here today but sunny and no snow, so I decided to fit just the drive side pipes.  It went pretty smoothly so I figured why not fit the other side as well.  The drum side pipes fought me a little bit but I got everything in place and bolted up tight.  I still have to get the heat shields but I've got time.  It won't be riding weather here until at least mid April or May. 







I also went back to the stock foot pegs and brake / shift levers.  I still have to get the brake lever and the kick start lever rechromed.  I have a few more things planned for the Green Machine but those will probably have to wait until next winter.

Those pipes look great! I have a set still in the carton for my S/C project..... Still a long way from needing them! Green looks fantastic.

First ride of the year and first ride with the new pipes.  They sound great.  I had to run to the post office and then took a short ride to the gas station that has non-ethanol gas to fill up.  I got the rear brake lever and kick start arm back from the chromer on Wednesday.  It's just little stuff from here on out.  I picked up a set of actual K1 bars from Hondaman and will probably fit them at some point.  I also want to move the ignition switch back to where it belongs.

I did some front end work this week.  I got a set of K1 handlebars from Hondaman ( thanks Mark).  They have a 3 1/2" rise and the cut outs to run the wiring through the bars.  I decided to move the ignition switch back to the frame also.  I got lucky and found a fork lock with the same key number as my ignition switch.

Thanks guys.  I got the fork lock from Yamiya.  They have a bunch of them.  My key number is still listed on their site so they might have a few of each of them.

It was in the low 30s here today and I went for a very short ride just to make sure everything was working.  It was freezing!  Spring can't come soon enough.

I replaced the points plate with a new Dyna S ignition and got it timed last week.  It has been too cold here to go for a decent ride though to test is out.  Today it was in the low 60s but cloudy.  Perfect for a longer test ride.  I went for about 70 miles just cruising around.  I tried to get in every type of riding I would normally do: country roads, stop and go, and a short blast on the highway.  I visited a few local motorcycle shops just to look around: City Limit Moto in Buffalo and the local Royal Enfield dealer - Kustom Works in Depew.  Those new Royal Enfields are pretty cool and relatively cheap.  The bike ran great.  I didn't really notice any difference between the Dyna and the points.  The bike has plenty of power and pulled strongly throughout the rev range.  It did seem to be a smoother transition over 4,000 rpm.  But that was very subtle.  I did the change for reliability and ease of maintenace. 

I still have a few small jobs I want to do and eventually the Henry Abe wheels are going to be replaced with spoked wheels.  That is probably a job for next winter.

About the Dyna-S wires.
Keep the wires away from the rotating rotor with nut.
They sit very close. Strap them down. Shortcircuit can happen really quick which will stop the engine.

you should go back to spoke and keep all of your drilled rotors front and back. Thats just me tho.

I'm green with envy Scott. It's looking good.
Electronic ignition is great. I remember back in the 70s carrying a Snapon points file(flexible) in my wallet and business card to clean the points. Somewhere in the 1500-2500 mile zone I'd have to clean up my points and use my little homemade light socket with alligator clips to check the timing when it would not be firing correctly.
My K5 that I bought off a friend's estate 4 years ago had been converted already. No maintenance with the electronic ignition like the points have to be constantly done.
The Henry Abes look good but yes the spoked rims will bring the bike back to stock.
